DC shoes?

Hi y'all...

My daughter has told me that she HAS TO have DC shoes for back to school!!

Now, I looked at 'em at EBay and whew... I dunno if it's gonna happen. I've never seen these shoes in person, and I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any stores that carry them, so I can see and touch 'em, and decide if they're worth the money people are charging for them.

DSs wore DC an other skate boarding shoes in middle and high school. They are the worst shoes. They last but they have no arch support at all. I would never let her run in them.

You can even find them at Sports Authority and Dick's Sporting Goods. Personally I would not do DC., that is considered an "out" skate brand around here.

Wow, good info, I'm glad I asked! Thanks; I'm definitely rethinking this since Dawn mentioned the lack of arch support. Last thing she needs is feet issues! Not to mention, if I paid THAT much for them then found out they were "out" of fashion...

My son wore them for his full two years in middle school and half of his freshman year in high school (along with Element) with no foot problems. And different regions have different trends. Your daughter should know if something is trendy there.

Oh supercool, I found a pair in white/black in her size for $44!! Cheaper than I usually find for shoes that actually LAST for her!

And these DO last? I tend to stick with a certain shoe if they last, because they're so stinkin' expensive...

My DD got 2 pairs of them. I'm pretty sure it was at Famous Footwear. She hardly wears them. She says they are not comfortable. Now, why didn't she figure it out when she tried them on in the store?

It really depends on the age and grade level of the kid wearing the shoe. DC is more of a middle school shoe and NOT a high school shoe. Mostly girls wear DC because of Rob Dyrdeck (spelling may be off) instead of it being a skating shoe.

That being said, most the girls at my school (5-8 school) start with DC and wind up with Osiris by 8th grade. DC is more of a younger kid shoe.

If you have a Ross near you they have a ton of DC's for 14.99. And our Journeyz kids in the mall has some of them marked down to 70% off. We were just looking at them today.

Some look pretty cool... But then I wear a pair of black Vans skate shoes. (and I'm not in school-not by a LONG SHOT! )

If lack of arch support is a big issue, then get some inserts to put in them. I have to do that for several of my shoes due to my nearly flat feet.

I wore a pair of Vans years ago and though they were very cute, but OH MY GOD I have never ever had such pain in my feet!!!!!!!! I absolutely could not walk first thing in the morning. I will never ever wear a pair of skater sneakers/shoes again no matter how cute they are.
