DC question

Probably a stupid question, but we're booked to go to DC and we know you can get your photo taken. Are cameras banned?? Are camcorders banned ?

Hi JJ,

As far as i know you can take cameras and camcorders into DC, I seem to remember seeing a thread about this on the old UK Dis and as i'm booked to go to DC myself was interested in this also. I think you can buy under water cameras from DC but remember reading that you can buy them much cheaper at Wal Mart (no surprises there then eh?)

You can take camera's and camcorders into DC, you can also buy underwater camera's to use also which i would highly recommend, i found it cheaper to buy the cameras' over here and just slip them into the suitcase.

You won't be allowed to take close-ups of the dolphin encounter as this interferes with the official photographers, but you should be okay about 10 yards or so back from the encounter beach area.

Four of us visited DC last August, splitting into two couples for the dolphin encounter so that we could film each other from the 'shoreline'. We were very pleased with the results, often much better than the official videographer who comes into the water with you. If you want to do this it is worth spending a few minutes to scout out good locations around the cabanna (one of 6[?] small coves where the dolphins swim) from which to film. You will not be allowed to take any kind of camera into the dolphin swim.

The rest of the park is camera friendly. I have a waterproof case for my videocamera and got some great shots of all of us swimming in the lazy river and the coral reef area.
