Hi all,

I have been to DC before, in late December about 8 years ago (where did all of that time go??) DH and I were looking for a trip to take for our first anniversay, and with the new seasonal pricing at DC I am considering in. However, last year we were married at WDW in late January and the day before our wedding was brutally cold; I don't think it ever got above the low forties; however our wedding day and beyond were fine after 10 AM or so. Because of this, I have reservations. Even with the tierd pricing (and the fact that I won't do the dolphin swim myself, I did it last time and it was okay but I liked everything else better so it isn't worth the extra $$$ to me) it is still a fairly expensive day. I am trying to justify it in my mind with the included Sea World passes, but I am still not certain. I think it is unquestionably worth the money, but I don't want to be completely miserable and unable to do anything because of cold.

Any experiences thoughts, or suggestions?

TIA,

Amy

Amy, If you do decide to book Discovery Cove, make sure to do it early in your vacation. If the weather is bad, they will let you reschedule for later in the week (They really working with you to make the experience as pleasant as possible and getting you in on a better day). We made the mistake of booking the last day of our vacation one year, and although most of the week was beautiful our Discovery Cove day was a cold miserable day.

Thanks for the tip! I didn't know that they allowed that!

ITA. We just got back last night. We were supposed to go to DC on Saturday but the weather was miserable. DH called and we were resecheduled for Monday and the weather was great.
If you book it is 'rain or shine' and if you aren't able to switch days then you will be out a lot of $$ or have a miserable day there.
If we ever prebook again we will do it for the day after we arrive in WDW so that we have some flex days to work with in case the weather turns.
