anyone know if any of the roll in showerrooms at por riverside have 2 dble beds as oppose to the king..?? thanks.

I've stayed in both the Alligator Bayou and the Mansions sections in rooms with 2 double beds and a roll in shower. So yep they're available.

Personally I liked the Alligator Bayou section better. The Mansions are all across the river and therefore further away from the main building. Also the bridges are very bumpy so it was a problem crossing them. I understand how some people probably think the Mansions are much prettier then the Bayou section but I like the rustic look of the Bayou.

I stayed in building 14 in the Alligator Bayou section and I think it was the Oak Manor building in the Mansion area.

was section 14 considered a preferred section with it being so close to the foodcourt? we have standard room booked but when we check in we will ask for the closet room possible to the foodcourt. we did pofq last year so im familiar with the layout of por thanks for your help.

I'm sorry but I don't know. I stayed there in 2003 and I think that was before they charged extra for preferred locations. I remember asking for a room with a roll in shower, 2 double beds and in the Alligator Bayou section and I was given building 14. We swapped over to the Mansions on our last night because we had a water leak problem with the roll in shower. The water was leaking through the wall and soaking the carpet.

I've also stayed in building 14 with two double beds/roll in shower- it's right next to the food court and a nice stroll along the "lake"- very convenient. I'll take convenience over decor anytime! I really can't recall if we had booked preferred or standard but we were given this location. Our room was on the first floor. I've stayed at POR in the mansions before on the second floor- Bill is right- it's a long hike from the mansions to the main building/food court. ---Kathy
