If you had to choose, which daytime parade do you prefer - Animal Kingdom's or Disney Studios? Any why?

I have a DD-6 (Princess Aurora freak!) and DS-8 (Buzz fan, what a surprise *that* must be!). Both will have a chance to see their favourites later in the week, so while that's a consideration it's probably not the most important thing.

We will be arriving at WDW around 2 in October, so I figure we have time to get one daytime parade into the schedule before zipping over to MK for Spectro at night. They have already seen the MK parade a couple times, but neither of AK or MGM.

Unfortunately, only time in the schedule for one of them, so we need to choose...

Opinions, please!

TIA, Jeff

I would say the Animal Kingdom"Jammin in the Jungle" parade hands down:smooth:
It has one of those beats that will stay with you for the rest of the day. Kinda like Tapestry of Dreams Parade.
We love it.

They are both great parades. I prefer the MGM one because of all the "unique" characters (Bear, Olie, Star Wars, Muppets). You don't see them in the other parades. Of the 2, my favorite would be MGM. However, they are both so great I don't think you could lose.

Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade.

The music and beat just gets the body moving to that Jammin Jungle Beat.:bounce:

Note: Parade starts near Haramba (sp) and circles around the Tree of Life and come back to Haramba. So ask the CM for the best place to watch in Haramba and you may see it twice.:Pinkbounc

The JJP is a bit more original looking and sounding, while the Stars parade has a lot more characters (Playhouse Disney, StarWars, etc) and some neat looking cars.

I guess I'd go with Stars and Motor Cars, but not by much.

Stars & Motor Cars will make DS happy, Buzz is in it. The cars are really cool. The music from AK is definitely lively, much more colorful, but there aren't as many characters in it. (sorry DD, no Aurora in either parade.) If she's into any other princess, she'll be happy!

My favorite is Stars and Motor Cars at MGM because I love the music and old Hollywood theme of it. Also, it's really great to see so many characters that you may not normally see in a parade (Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia, Hercules and Meg, Kermit and Piggy, Bo Peep, ect.). Also, there's a Toy Story unit in it so that should keep your little Buzz fan happy. Jammin Jungle at AK is great too bit Motor Cars gets the edge from me.

Wow, you people aren't making this any easier!

The MGM parade is sounding to me to be a bit 'passive' - i.e. we stand and watch the floats go by. But, the AK parade is livelier, more bouncy... About righ?

Do either of them pause and get the kids up like in the MK daytime parade?

If my assessment above is close, we might enjoy the AK parade a bit more - I'm still bummed about no Tapestry parade in Epcot :(, we absolutely loved that music and walked away humming it for hours.

Any other information to share about the parades that might help me make a decision?

YES! I love that about the MGM parade. My husband loves the Muppets and we both love Hercules! It is great to be able to see these characters!

I'm casting a vote for Jammin' Jungle parade. It's much more interactive and a lot more interesting to watch.

That said, your children will probably love either one. If they can't get enough of seeing the characters, MGM might be the right choice. Of course, you'll be able to see the characters in the parks without having to stay for the parade, so Jammin' Jungle would be something different....something you won't see in any other way.

I'm a regular bundle of help today, huh? Ok, enough waffling.... I'd choose Jammin' Jungle.

This is really a hard choice...one that my husband and I have been debating ourselves for our July trip.

We LOVE the music and the "interaction" of the JJP. For whatever reason, not too many people stick around for this parade, so we've always found a great spot to sit and take pictures without feeling crowded. The characters that aren't on floats (Pluto, Baloo and many more) will shake hands and play on their route and many of the puppet operators can interact with you too (like Tapestry of Dreams).

But, like mentioned by other posters, there are many more characters in the MGM parade...we're sort of leaning toward this one right now, because we're hoping by July that Nemo might be added to the parade (Lilo and Stitch were added last year!). You do need to find a spot early for this parade though, because like the MK parade, it's a popular one!

You really can't make a wrong choice here...whichever one you miss, just make it one of your top priorities for your NEXT trip. :D

Our favorite is at AK. Very colorful and great music. I love the stilt walkers - they amaze me!!! ;)

I think if helping a 'first timer' choose I'd go with MGM Stars and Motor Cars Parade for the characters. It's a lot of fun if you are near a funny host. The parade does take place in cars so you'll want a front row seat for this parade. Unique characters make this parade a 'do not miss.'

We enjoy Mickey's Jungle Jammin' Parade because we love the music (we have a parade CD with this music on it) and because the floats are able to be seen from far away so no front lines needed. This parade closes the park unline the MGM one.

You'd be surprised how the 'front line' viewing plays an important part when traveling with a grandmother who does not want to sit on the ground and a 5 yo who can't see if standing.

We just got back from WDW and saw both the AK and MGM parades. We loved both of them, but I think I preferred the MGM parade a bit more, because it had some unique characters I didn't see anywhere else. However, we caught the parade close to the Echo Lake area, and there was a really annoying CM wearing a pith helmet that was commenting on the parade. We didn't find him funny at all, but your mileage may vary.
