How flexible is Disney with days off? Is it appropriate to ask for time off and personal days, or could that ruin my chances for future employment?

honetly if you need time off it would be best to request it after you get the job. I wouldn't mention needed an extended amount of time off during your interview, they may not like that. They can be flexible with having days off, depending on the season, and you may be able to find someone to take a shift or 2 from you. It's better to get the job, and worry about time off than to not get the job..
Disney granting time off varies greatly between the different Lines of Business. My roommate was a lifeguard and she took time off all the time! I was in Entertainment, after getting denied 4 times I stopped trying. Instead I made friends and just traded shifts around.
How many days a week do you typically work? Like do you have any free time to enjoy things?
Disney Internships and Programs Participants are employed on a 5/8 basis - five days per week, 8 hours per day, for a total of 40 hours per week.
While that may be adjusted upward or downward depending on labour needs, it's the base model that is aspired to.
It can definitely be lower though. I never saw 40 hours. My usual work week was around 30-34. The extra hours less made a difference.
I was hoping to be around the 32-40 range max because I want to take at least two classes (online) while I'm down there. If I only worked like 35 hours I could probably swing 3.
That was the range that I was in when I worked in DAK. It was higher when I was in MK in 2007.
DAK - I worked 32-40 a week in MK, it was more like 40-45 a week.

Do you know how many courses most people take when they are there. I mean, I want to take a minimum of 2 courses online at my college while I'm there, but I could probably do 3 as long as I'm not working like 50 hour weeks. I've worked full time and done full time (4) classes per semester before, but it's miserable and you will burn out after a few months. I am also concerned that the living situation may make it somewhat difficult to get alone time to concentrate on courses.
Could that be attributed to the fact that DAK closes earlier than MK?
Definitely! MK, I would start work around 6PM and get off when the park closed. DAK, I would start around 10AM and get off about 6
Ooh which did you prefer working at, hours-wise? On one hand the idea of working in the morning every day isn't that wonderful, but it gives you the rest of the night to go explore elsewhere! But I guess you could say the same for MK, but the other way around. I mean, sometimes MK people could end up working til like 1 in the morning or so, right? Or so I've heard...
