Please don't make Melanie pregnant. I mean Phillip should still be having fertility problems, or do the writers suddenly think it's been solved?

Carly and Rafe...hmmm. Then Sami would be married but alone. I guess that would be his only option as Jennifer is still married, Hope is hiding out wiht Bo, unless it's Melanie if she leaves Philip (not a good match), Taylor (we use to know her) or Nicole....

I too am glad that the secret is out. It needed to be said. Both Caroline an dStephanie were getting away with things they shouldn't have. Now if we can get the ball rolling on this and other storylines it would be a ncie start to 2011.

Since I am a day ahead of you I got to see New Year's Eve.

You didn't miss anything...it was very stiff with E.J/Nicole/Sami/Rafe on the pier. Did not like how they had Nicole done up. Really red lip stick. Nicole does throw a drink...but that is all I will tell you.

What ever happend to Maggie's resturant? Shouldn't she be there with some party going on? They have the count down going on....that christening must have been pretty late in the evening.

I'm pretty sick of the Sami/EJ story, too.

"You shot the kids' father..." over and over. Hello, it isn't the first time she tried to kill him. Also, he raped her - they seem to have forgotten about that...Wrap it up already!

I knew Melanie would be pregnant. I'm guessing that Nathan will marry her & pretend the baby is his to keep it away from Phillip. Or maybe Brady will step up; he needs a girl now.

I can see Daniel and Carly together as they seem to be getting BO and Hope back together - finally!

I never liked Phillip and Melanie together. The actor who plays Phillip is dating the actress who plays Stephanie in real life so maybe they will try those two together again.

I thought Jennifer was going to fall for the newish Dr. (the organ guy)? maybe they got too much negative feedback from that so they changed the story line.

They might make for an interesting couple, but I don't see it. He's too much like a brother to her. Plus wiht her good girl and his bad guy personas it's not a mathc. She should be with Nathan, an equally good guy. Now if she was the old Melanie who was a bit naughtier then maybe...

I too have been wondering about Che Rouge. Did it close wiht the economy Seriously, they need to have Maggie doing something, and throwing a ncie Salem party there usually does the trick. Besides, aren't there any NYE engagements that could occur there? Maybe Valentine's Day?

The idea of Nathan marrying Melanie to hide the baby from Phillip is interesting, but then wouldn't she be doing what Sami did to EJ and Chloe did to Phillip (even thoughthey weren't together). Instead, I coulod see her losing the baby and having a storyline about that.

They say Rafe will fall in love with his care taker since he doesn't know Sami. The care taker is someone already on the show...maybe Carly ? I don't know. There really are not to many choices of unmarried women.

What about Lexie???? She has been known to stray. Plus it would be a whole tangled web with being EJ's sister. Just a thought.

Anyone else applaud Brady for decking Phillip? I enjoyed that scene, as Brady clearly cares mre for Melanie than Phillip does.

I was also glad to see Rafe convince Sami to do the right thing. I was wondering if he was going to, or if he would even call EJ if someone else hadn't. While I still don't care for him at least he played by the rules that they have for now.

I'm ahead of you so I got to see Stephanie's wedding dress...not impressed at all.

And why do they have Kayla doing a 360 with Stephanie and wanted her to tell Natan. Today she is like lets make this wedding as normal as possible or something like that.

And what is with Caroline....I really think she is possessed. The way she popped up in that hospital bed when Steph and Kayla were in there. Then asks to see her priest.

And why are we subjected to Vivian on an island now with Gus. What will this storyline bring us. I thought that would be the end of us seeing the two of them but no those two have to set up camp on the island.

I thought that was a very satisfying scene with Brady decking Philip. In fact I replayed it and watched it again! LOL

I read that Vivian and Gus do get off the island. Although I do love Vivian, I getting really tired of this story.

What a show today....

Stephanie got what was coming to her today, the worse part was she kept lying to him and he knew it.

Kayla being all high and mighty again today and laying into Carly.

Then in the previews Stephanie and Chloe are saying it isn't over yet....

I'm still thinking that maybe they will get Melanie and Brady together in a platonic relationship to raise her baby with Phillip. I wish they'd just get rid of Stephanie - what happened to both her and EJ's racing backgrounds, they have conveniently forgotten about those and now she is a clingy idiot instead of a fearless thrill seeker.

I'm happy about the Bo/Hope story line but that is about it lately...

Mark Hapka (Nathan Horton) has been let go from Days of our Lives, soapcentral.com has learned.


"I spoke with [show executives] a few months back to discuss my concerns with the direction of the character," Hapka said in an online chat, transcribed by the Daytime Royalty message board. "I felt similar to the way [my fans] are all feeling. I didn't feel as though I was given a fair chance to show my ability. I felt my storys (sic) were treated entirely too casually. I asked nicely for [DAYS] to either utilize me, or let me go."


Hapka joined Days of our Lives in June 2009. Prior to joining DAYS, Hapka appeared on the CBS primetime series, The Ghost Whisperer, and a web series spinoff of the show. Hapka has also been involved in a handful of independent film projects.


Hapka insists that he is grateful for the opportunity to have worked on Days of our Lives.


"[DAYS executive producer] Ken Corday is a good man. [Co-executive producer] Gary Tomlin really believed in me from what I was told," Hapka stated. "As far as [head writer Dena] Higley goes... we don't speak. We never really have. We may have uttered a few words once during the Emmys. That's it though."


"I don't know who got the final say but that person is going to be the demise of this show if there isn't a powershift," Hapka added. "I'm not trying to burn any bridges in any way here. I am simply given credit where credit is due. I haven't said an ill word about anyone. I simply have an opinion of the collaborative efforts. I see so much potential in the show and it's so clear to me some of the simple changes that can be made to better it..."


Hapka will continue taping for at least a little while longer. His final airdate has not yet been determined. It is unclear at this time if the role will be recast.
