hi everyone ! heres hoping someone can help me out.
we are first time disney and want to see as much as we can.we are going for 3 weeks nov14-dec5 staying in kissimee.
how many days do we need in each park and which ones can we get away with doing just one day? :confused3

Wow... three weeks, that's great. You'll be there through the Thanksgiving holiday, here in the US, so you may want to plan on avoiding the parks that week, focusing your visit either before or after.

You didn't mention how many you are, and what ages. That's critical to our giving you good advice about this. Assuming you're a family with young children, you can probably use this as a guide for seeing all there is to see (especially if you avoid Thanksgiving week):

Magic Kingdom - 3-4 days
Epcot - 2-3 days
Disney-MGM Studios - 2-3 days
Animal Kingdom - 1 day

That leaves you lots of time to visit the other attractions you should catch while visiting Central Florida. I would recommend you take a ride out to the Space Center. That's a must-see for anyone.

thanks for that!
its me and hubby and ds7(birthday out there so will be 8) and dd9 who is just coming to end of treatment for leukemia (hence the trip)
were all excited but very overwhelmed.

I don't know if your DD will be fit enough but if she is you should consider Discovery Cove and a dolphin swim. Pricey but worth every penny and something none of you will ever forget.

Since you area going to be in Florida for 3-weeks, I would plan on a minimum of two days at each park, and go back and spend additional time at your favorite. Also, don't overlook the Space Center, Bush Gardens, and even Universal. Enjoy your stay. :goodvibes

shes really well at mo thanks.
do we need to book this over here or when we are out there?

Pleased to hear shes well. Definitely book Discovery Cove here before you go-you can do it on the website without having to ring or write.

I would say:
3 days MK
2 days Epcot
1 day MGM
1 day Animal Kingdom
2 days both Universal parks
1 day Sea World
1 day Discovery Cove
1 day Busch Gardens
1 day Downtown Disney/DisneyQuest
1 day Typhoon Lagoon
1 day Blizzard Beach
1 day Kennedy Space Center
1 day Cocoa Beach
Couple days in between to relax
:yay: :yay: :yay: Have fun

:thanks: sounds like we need to get into training!! :bounce:

to swim or not to swim that is the question :confused3
-discovery cove im talking about sorry.
is the swim with the dolphins worth it with the children?

isn't that Discovery Cove thing like $200 per person? That is ALOT of money to swim with dolphins, and swallow salt water all day!!!

Regardless, glad your daughter is well and doing better.

We went to Discovery Cove(just me and DS(8 at the time) Left everybody else at the pool at the hotel(too young to go- and too expensive for all of us to go) It was a fantastic day. The dolphin swim is only about 30 minutes of your day(and of that time about 20 minutes is the "training" you get before you even get in the water- so we are talking 5-10 minutes tops with a dolphin) But those 5 minutes were magic! My DS is now 12 and he still talks about that day. The snorkeling was just amazing. There are trip reports on the Seaworld board that will give you all the details- like the yummy lunch and band that plays. The way they limit attendance to make it really never feel crowded at all! We LOVED it all every second of that day- from the birds to the rays to the dolphins. It was a great day and if you are planning on such a long trip you get the seaworld pass with admission also. So you are getting 2 parks with that ticket price and this place is truly like none I have ever been to. It was a great place for my son to learn to snorkel. (SHARKS!! shh they are behind glass but when you swim around the bend and see them you think they are right in front of you

I got tired just reading that itinerary:rotfl2: That style of trip, just isn't our style. Our trips are VERY laid back - never a park on the day of arrival or the next day we explore the resorts, get some dining in and swim, swim swim. You have do decide what is best for your family, you will get a million opinions (including mine ;) )! Have a great trip, keep us posted on what you decide.

I agree, no parks on the day of arrival and on departure day and definately a break every 3rd day or so, seems like you have time to rest and do it all! If this is your only time making the trip I would say go for it all, it is all awesome. For people that come back every couple of years I would not reccomend it all at once, but then again those people don't usually come for three weeks at a time :rotfl2: If money is an object I would say Disney and Universal parks are no misses the rest can go. B pixiedust: ut if money is no object and this is a one time deal go for it all!!! :thumbsup2 So many magical memories.

There are so many places to visit in Florida, it is amazing. Now I did this outside the Orlando area but my DH, sister and I went on a Glass Bottom Boat ride near Crystal River. It was not strenuous like swimming with dolphins but the greatest thing was we saw a manatee!!!! It was sooo cool. Maybe some sort of relaxing boat ride should be in the schedule? Others more familiar with the area can probably tell you more!
