I am curious how much people charge/pay for daycare for a 1 year old.

How much do you charge/pay weekly for a 1 year old?

What does that include?

For how many hours a day?

Do you dress them?

Do you/they charge extra if they are late?

If you dont want to tell me how much you make as a provider, I understand. I also understand it is going to be different in different parts of the country.

Thanks!

Are you talking someone that watches them at home or a place...the places around here run about 1200-1500 a month.

in our neck of the woods there's only one center that takes them-they charge around $950 per month for m-f 7a-6p (and even if the child attends part-time you pay full-time) plus around $300 registration and $500 other associated fees per year. they are closed on all legal/school holidays, for several days at christmas and a few days in the spring. since this center is associated with a k-12th grade private school there are also minimum days and in-service days the kids have off (and when my kids attended the staff went on a 2 or 3 day retreat and the place was closed).

includes-care PERIOD. you provide-diapers, wipes, all foods/formula, tissues...

they cannot arrive in jammies-must be in clothing, they will change the child if they become soiled, but otherwise you retrieve them in the same clothes you drop off in.

if you arrive after 6pm you are charged $5 per every 5 minutes (rounded up to the next 5 minute increment).

on average the rate rises at least 5% per year.

My DS's daycare just went up. He's 22 months old and his class is now $202. The infant class is $240 a week. Not sure what the class is in between, probably $210?

At our daycare, once they move out of the infant room, lunch and 2 snacks a day are included. We provide diapers and each parent brings 2 packs of baby wipes per month. In the class that my DS is in parents also provide juice boxes for the afternoon snack.

Hours are 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. If picked up after 6 it's $1 per minute.

Once they are out of the infant room they have to be dressed and wearing shoes.

Our daycare is an in-home licensed daycare provider, and we LOVE her. She only takes children by referral. It is $90 per week for a child over 2 and $100 per week for a child under 2. Hours are 7:15am - 5:30 pm. As long as it is not a habit, if you are a little late she understands. If being late becomes a habit, she will give you a warning. If it continues, she will give you a 2 week notice to find other arrangements for your child.

For infants parents provide diapers, wipes, formula, and baby food. Once they are on table food she provides breakfast, lunch and a snack.

Kids should be dressed when they arrive and she asks that all parents provide at least 1 change of clothes.

Thank you for your replies!

I was looking for both in home and at centers.

IndisMom, that is really reasonable for daycare at any age, WOW!

In SoFla, our center charged about $130 a week, and that was from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. My DS started going at 20 months, and loved it there.

Before I decided it just wasn't worth the trouble to go to work anymore I had my kids at an at-home state licensed daycare. They started going there when they were 3 months and 21 months. She charged $5/hour for each child, so it was $10/hour for my 2 kids. It included their meals & snacks. The daycare provider took a week of paid vacation. All major holidays were paid holidays. My kids were only there about 20 hours a week.

Now that I've seriously cut back my hours I don't use daycare. I occasionally watch a friend's little girl when she has daycare issues & she pays me $4/hour, which I put into a savings account for my daughters.

My daughter, who is now 3 1/2 had been in a licensed in-home daycare from the time she was 8 weeks. It cost us $85 per week. And she provided the formula when DD was still bottle fed.

The lady running the in-home daycare recently retired, and now DD is in a "normal" daycare. Our cost is now $125 per week.

The average price around here for daycare centers for a 1 year old would be about $125 - $145.

I am a licensed in home provider and my typical work day is from 7:45-5:30..i usually don't charge the parents if they are late due to the fact that they are usually still working. If I know they are not working and late they will get a warning and i will start charging $5 for every 5 minutes.

I would charge $100 for a one year old and I supply: wipes, breakfast, lunch, and a snack. I also supply babyfood and cereal for kids that aren't on people food yet.

formula i would supply if it is the brand i supply...if not it is the parents responsibility.

I don't get paid for my time off, but i do get paid for holidays.

hope this helps ya!

Average price for an infant in day care here is $150-175. Parents supply everything.
