Day pack question and water bottles in parks

We will be taking a backpack into the park to carry sunscreen, snacks, ponchos, etc. (We have a family of 6). We will also have 6 water bottles to stay ahead of the late August heat.

1) Are you allowed to bring a medium sized backpack on most rides? (I can't remember my last trip in 2010, plus we had a stroller then and often left it underneath).

2) Our kids normally carry their own water while hiking, etc. using an adjustable sling like this

Are these allowed in the parks and on rides? Do you suggest other strategies for carrying water for 4 kids?

Thanks so much!

I bring my really fat purse on every ride with no problems. Some rides require you to put your stuff in a specific spot (such as Mission Space or Star Tours). I think both of those will be fine. Just be sure your kids do not take the drinks out to drink at any time in line or on the ride or they may ask you to get rid of them.

I'm going to disagree slightly with the above. In my experience while they often don't allow you to eat in line drinking water has always been fine. I bring a large 24 oz insulated water bottle with me all the time and often drink water in lines - in fact that's where I drink most of my water. But yes every ride will allow you to bring your belongings. Aside from the two rides mentioned above I just put my purse on the floor and hold it between my feet. The slings for water bottles the kids will be reminded that they cannot have anything between the seatbelt and their body on rides like Tower of Terror so I'd be really tempted to load them all in the backpack once you watch the video and are in the boiler room.

We bring our backpacks and lots of water to the parks, all of the time! You will be just fine. If you are planning an extended visit to Universal Orlando, you will have to put your backpacks in lockers for many of the rides, but Disney you can carry it on all of the rides.

1 yes I bring my full size back pack to the parks all the time. Neve had a problem with any rides ( things like soaring if it can not fit under the set then they ask you to put it off the side)

2 yes this is fine ( and I think the kids should carry there own. so the back back is not too heavy and if not you will be in and out of the back pack ever 10 minutes.

I would look at getting something that is insulted so that the water stays cooler if you are going in summer ( or really anytime but the coldest months)
