After a good days rest it was off to the Magic Kingdom. After setting off early we arrived at the transportation centre where the crowds seem to be heading for the monorail to MK so we both looked at each other and headed for Epcot.
We arrive in Epcot and first thing to do is Spaceship Earth another thing we didnt get to do earlier in the year. I would say it was nothing like I expected but then again I wasnt sure what this would be like. Neither of us was too keen on this ride, I found it a bit claustrophobic or maybe it was because it was so dark, also I didnt like the fact that you would be listening to the information and at certain points you could hear the next bit at the same time, that in the dark made me feel slightly uneasy. I was extremely glad to get off and DH looked slightly relieved too. A walk in the daylight was called for so we headed off to find Soarin. I wasnt certain about this as I am not keen on heights
but DH was all for it. We got a fast pass and while we were waiting decided to ride Living with the land at least I think that is what it is called, it was a boat ride through some greenhouses well thats what I remember about it
. We had a look at the menu in the café and decided to go for something to eat after Soarin.
We go to use our fast passes a few minutes early but the cm let us through. We are seated in the top row right on the end; I have to admit when it started to move forward I sort of wished I was at home doing the ironing. Got to say it was fantastic I did close my eyes when it started to go fast over the water. If I had one criticism it would be that I would have felt a bit more secure if there had been a bar across rather that the seat belt as a couple of times I thought I was going to fall off. DH thought it was brilliant in fact at the end of the holiday he said it was the best ride. We went for lunch but that didnt fare too well as we are both plain eaters and DH had the New York sandwich which he didnt like so I have him my roll.
After lunch it was off to the world. DH wants to go to Norway and ride the Maelstrom so we head for there. No queue here, I thought it was ok but DH was disappointed, (nothing was going to match up to Soarin). We carry on having a walk around, I buy a glass case
from China for mom and we meet a few characters.
We are so hot we decide to leave the world showcase and get the boat back across. We arrive across just as the character bus pulls up and spend a few minutes watching them all.
We go back to get another fast pass for Soarin. We then go to the Circle of Life; I think this was okay although I cant remember much about it.
DH goes for a sit down while I have a wonder around taking photos and then its back to Soarin. We were on the middle row this time and although it was good you could see peoples legs and also from where we were sitting you could see the edge of the screen, but I still would have liked the bar.
We walked to the Living Seas but it was closed, had a look at Mission Space but that was a definite no and then we stumbled across Test Track. I really didnt want to do this and was so relived that the wait was nearly an hour so DH decided he wasnt too bothered as he was tired and didnt want to wait an hour so he head off to the monorail back to the transportation centre.
We were shattered by the time we got back so after a shower and a rest we headed to the Ponderosa where we had a steak buffet. I have to admit the steak was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth; I think we were both surprised at how good it was. Then it was back to the hotel for a bit of TV and bed.
