Today's Title - Meltdown at MGM

Today pretty much the same as previous, up at 5:30, breakfast at Boma's and then we are off to MGM for the day. We arrive at MGM around 9:30 and we are off to R&RC. DW and DMIL go first while I baby sit, and then DW and I get to go, again no lines. DW wants to do ToT do DMIL and DW get fast passes there was a 30 min wait posted. We walk over to the animation tour and find out how long that is, 40 min, cool we can do that then go to ToT. First Mistake - Expecting a toddler to last 40min. Second Mistake - Ignoring the warning that you can't get out once you get in. Any way we park the stroller and head on in, during the first movie with Robin Williams and Walter Cronkite, Alexis spits her pacifier out and no one notices until we've entered the animation area. Third mistake - always carry a spare pacifier. Alexis has been getting her teeth lately and she gets real cranky when she has nothing to chew on. About halfway through the animation portion Alexis starts wailing, I feed her my fingers which she promptly starts to chew on, and she quites down. About the time she reaches my elbow she decides that my flesh isn't good enough for her and starts wailing again. DW tries to nurse her but the monkey wants none of this, walking her, bouncinger her, rubbing her gums doesn't help at all. We are now getting some very dirty looks from the people around us and we try to go out the way we came in but to know avail. We enter the hallway were you can watch where the animators live, we hang at the very back of the hall and let everyone go to the front trying to keep some distance, but eventually we have to enter the other movie theater for the finalle, she quiets down for the first minute or so then starts back up again, we try the exit for the theater but its locked we finally end up jumping a rope, going out an emergency exit and ending up backstage, out another door and we are outside again. If you were a witness to this please accept our apologies.
Once outside we find a bench and give Alexis some fruit cocktail to eat, DW is embarresed by the situation, and angry at me for not being more proactive. I'm angry at myself for getting us into the mess and DMIL is embarrased by the whole situation. We decide to forgo anything else at MGM and head back to AKL for a break. Once there we have lunch in our room, and everyone takes a nap.
Later
After the naps we decide to head to the Boardwalk for dinner. We agree on the Flying Fish and are seated right a way by a wonderful host. I wish I could say the same thing about our waiter, when he asks us what we would like to drink I reply "We'll need a few minutes to decide but could you bring us some water in the meantime" he brings the water then takes all the wine glasses away. When he comes back for our order (10 min later) we tell him which wine the lady's will be having and I order a beer. 10 min later our drinks arrive but not by our waiter, 10 min later he finally comes by to take our order, we order, and wait and wait and wait and wait, 30 min later our food comes, not delivered by our waiter, and we proceed to eat, the food was delicious, the waiter comes by and asks us if we would like dessert, we answer no, Alexis is getting very tired of sitting so I volunteer to take her out while DW and DMIL pay the check. Alex and I go out, and its raining, not one of the Florida downpours but a nice quiet rain, the Piano Man is parked underneath the awning for FF so Alex dances around while he plays. 20 min later I see my long lost DW and her mom, the waiter finally brought the check so they could escape. We'll probably eat at FF again but I hope we don't have the same waiter. We head back to AKL and put Alex down for bed, we ask DMIL to baby sit while DW and I go down to Jiko for some us time, we have dessert and drinks then head back that long hallway for the night. Hopefully tommorow will be better.
