DAY EIGHT Part #2
Here are a few more pictures at Neuschwanstein.
Once we were back in Munich, Eliana and I went to tour the Residenz Museum which is just down the block from our hotel. This was the palace of the Wittelsbach kings until 1918. We were able to take pictures here so I took plenty.
There were so many rooms on display that we only got to really see a small amount of them before we had to be back at the hotel. Would have loved to have more time to spend here.
We met back at the hotel for our farewell dinner. We had said our goodbyes to Rudy and our usual bus after we had returned from Neuschwanstein so we boarded a new bus with a new driver to head to dinner. The new restaurant is located amidst a somewhat residential area. This meant that the bus had a very difficult time navigating the streets including a tense few minutes when we expected to hear the sound of breaking glass and metal being crushed. Yikes!
We made it there all in one piece and were greeted with the oompah oompah band performing in the front of the restaurant for us. We moved inside for dinner to a private room and the band played more traditional German songs and did some dancing.
Our guides presented DD with a card and a Mickey Happy Birthday pin as her birthday was coming up in just 2 more days. Then they sang Happy Birthday with the band in English and German.
We had a lot of fun and were sad to say goodbye.
One last picture with our wonderful ABD guides - Kim on the left, Nadine on the right.
We stayed one additional night and did a day trip to Salzburg, Austria the next day. I will post some pics for that trip as well.
