Day Eight (Our Last Day sniff-sniff) May 28, 2004
The girls and I talked it over, last night when we returned to our room, we received a notice of the 10th Anniversary of Disneys Wilderness Lodge celebration that would be held in the Lobby on Friday May 28, 2004 Both girls said they would like to just stay at the Lodge today. Starting with Breakfast at WCC with
Billy. As the girls are getting ready The Green Eyed Monster returned, Katie was trying to convince Sydney to trade sun visors, remember Sydneys had Princess on it, Katies had Mickey the rat Well Sydney didnt want to trade
and Katie didnt want Billy to call her Mickey.
I suggested that Katie wear her new visor she got when she had ridden Mission Space so Billy would know how brave she was.
We arrive at WCC and I make the request that we sit in Billys Station, I was informed that there would be a longer wait I didnt have any other option but to say Thats fine, well wait. In about ten minutes we were shown to a table. Billy came right over. Stopped and hollered to the restaurant, Hay, these two girls are stocking ME!!! WHAT ARE YOU TWO DOING BACK IN HERE??? The girls replied by giggling. Billy turns to Sydney and asked, Well Princess what would you like this beautiful morning? her answer, giggle, giggle. So he turns to Katie and says how about you "Mic... errr Spacy ha-ha I guess I know what you have between your ears SPACE" Katie hadnt thought of that one, neither had I. Since neither girl could now communicate I told Billy That both girls wanted the Belgian-style waffles with whipped butter, I just wanted coffee with biscuit and side order of bacon. Again Katie asked for the ketchup but was busted Billy said, You dont need ketchup on WAFFLES, but Ill bring you some and then Im going to stand here and watch both of you eat the WAFFLES with ketchup.
they both ate the waffles with the ketchup
Phots taken and good-bys said we left

It was a great day to be at the Lodge, the presentations where wonderful...All current and some past CM's gathered around the balcony railings overlooking the main lobby, they where acknowledged and given credit for the success of The Wilderness Lodge. After all the presentations the lobby was showered with confetti in the shapes of leaves in fall colors it was festive and beautiful.
There was a Specialty cake courtesy of Chef Erich Herbitscheck and the Bakery staff of Disney's Grand Floridian. (Kristine Farmer & Richard Roman)
I spoke with Chef Richard Roman, and he said they started on the cake 2 1/2 weeks ago starting with the logs. They used 250 lbs. of sugar, 50 lbs. of flour, 28 lbs. of chocolate and 150 eggs. It weighed approximately 350 lbs. and measured 4'X4'X4'
Following are some photo's I took of the cake and Chef Richard as well as some of the other events:
All guest and Cast Members then enjoyed the cake served with lemonade.
We had a great day with the girls dancing with Black Wolf and being on local TV Station Channel 6. Visiting the Cubs Den making crafts, swimming, just a real Wilderness Lodge Day.
After a full day at the Lodge we headed over to Ft. Wilderness Campground for a very enjoyable dinner at Trails End this was very reasonable priced and after swimming most of the day the girls packed way some major food making the cost every affordable.
We visited the Petting Zoo, which the girls loved then the girls wanted to visit the stables to see the horses they managed to arrive before me and even though I asked them to wait they entered the stables. Next thing I heard was very loud sounds of many horseshoes hitting the pavement followed by squeals then elbows and as running toward me The girls had a look of terror on their faces The CMs had two of the Clydesdales putting them in harnesses and the horses became a little frisky and where just stomping around, while pulling the CMs around like little sacks of potatoes, but toward the girls too funny. (It did sound like twenty horses stampeding though the barn) After they both (girls and the Clydesdales) settled down we toured the stable and enjoyed the beauty of the magnificent animals. As we walked back toward the bus stop the Inter-Resort Bus came just as we arrived and we were back at Wilderness Lodge in a few minutes We stopped by concierge and made our selections for desserts Berry cobbler and a glass of wine for me, chocolate cake and hot chocolate for the girls I let them go to the pool for their last swim, last EWP, then we enjoyed our last viewing of WISHES from the beautiful Concierge Level Room.
Thank you once again to Guest Service Manager Mr. Mark Newman.
I had the luggage packed and we were ready to leave in the am. We had breakfast at concierge then called bell services to come for the luggage, the car was waiting with air nice and cool, said our Good-bys to Wilderness Lodge until September.
