Day 8 – Friday, May 6th

Ahhh… waking up to the sound of animals in the wild. Hold on… wait a minute… that’s not an animal… it’s someone’s child out on a balcony SCREAMING at the top of their lungs!!! :rotfl: Can someone tell me WHAT these parents are thinking?? I guess they were probably glad to get the kid out on the balcony so they didn’t have to listen to him/her screaming in the room. ;) Not exactly a Mickey wake-up call, but that was OK because I was anxious to get back up to that VP suite for some breakfast.

After saying our goodbyes to everyone associated with the media hospitality we headed back to the Poly. We kept laughing every time we had to change the parking permit in our car window, AKL to Poly, back to AKL, back to Poly… :teeth: It’s kind of cool having two rooms at the same time. Not something we normally get to experience.

My closing feelings on AKL are really positive. The resort surprised me and I’m anxious to stay there again. Of course next time we’ll probably have our children with us, so I’m thinking bunk beds might be nice. I wish WDW would do a king bed with bunk beds instead of a queen. DH and I sleep on a king at home and that is just what we’re use to. In a queen we always feel sort of cramped.

OK, so back to the Poly to pick up Mom and the kids. We decide to head back to MGM for the day. We still had quite a few things to hit there. We started with Beauty and the Beast, one of my favorites, then on to RnR, ToT, etc… Typical fun day around the park. ;) The crowds weren’t bad at all, and the weather was perfect. One of the highlights of the day was getting autographs from the Power Rangers. I have never had so much fun watching the boys… especially our oldest… they were just in heaven! I guess I now know what it’s like for the parents of girls when they see the princesses. ;)

Here are a few of my favorites… especially the last one with all THREE of my boys! ;)

We ate lunch at the ABC commissary with the dining plan. Food was pretty good. The boys spent a large part of the afternoon playing on the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground… they love it. ;) Then we headed down to get a good parade spot. I won’t bore you with my hundreds of parade pictures. :rotfl: I think it’s definitely the best parade at WDW. They’ve got all the newer characters as well as classics.

After a break back at the room we went to Ohana for dinner. YUMMMM!!!!!! :p Always my favorite meal… I just can’t get enough of those wontons and chicken wings! And the boys had fun with coconut races and hula hooping! ;) We ended up staying for the fireworks, we had an incredible table by the window with a perfect view! Does it get any better than that???? :cloud9: Boy are we spoiled. :teeth: Then we walked down to the beach to catch the EWP. Another great Poly perk! ;)

That night we used our rental car and went to Downtown Disney for a little shopping… OK a LOT of shopping. ;) I don’t usually buy much until the very end of the trip and then we get it all at once. World of Disney is my favorite, although I really miss the Disney home store. The boys are obsessed with Once Upon a Toy… so of course we had to take that all in. After we shopped til we dropped it was time to head back to the resort.

Day 9 coming soon…..
