HI! I'm fairly new to these boards and have already found some helpful information. What I would like to know is this: is there any company or private pay person who will watch my 2 teens with disabilities (Autism and Down Syndrome) so my DH and I could go out to dinner one night of our trip? My kids are actually very well behaved and would be happy just going for a swim or going to the game room/watching a video. Thanks for any info. you might have. :cool2:

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

I would suggest contacting Fairy Godmother's Sitting Service at (407) 969-9847 and toll free 877-611-4314. I think they will do all ages and have people who are used to dealing with disabilities.

No one has posted about Fairy Godmothers that I can remember in the past year, but people have posted in the past about using them.
The people who posted were happy with the service and indicated some of the Fairy Godmothers had extra training for caring for children with disabilities.
Most child care services are licensed to only age 12, but (at least in the past) Fairy Godmothers was also licensed as a Home Care provider, so they were able to care for older children and even adults.

These are a little old, but here is a
link from 2005 about Fairy Godmothers
link from 2006 about child care - you have to search for the people who recommend Fairy Godmothers (most are in lower case letters)
