I have done day by day before so no help needed there. What I am concerned about is we are hoping to get into SSR at the 7 mos window and with limited rooms whats the possibility of getting a 1 bed for 7 nights? Backup plan is trying BWV first time.
The time will be for Jan 9-14.

For those who have stayed at BWV how is the preferred in relation to standard. We arent late nighters so we enjoy our rest. Is it really that noisy underneath at the bars or do most rest well? Everytime we have tried to get standard view they have been booked so we feel preffered will be most likely choice.

I hope this doesnt sound like BWV is 2nd rate to any other DVC resort cause we are hoping to try them all. WDW marathon-DIS friends are staying at SSR also so thats the reason for trying in Jan.

Thanks for any help

I don't think you will have a noise problem at BWV if you have a preferred pool view. We had this view in February, and it was very quiet. Boardwalk views go faster as they are popular and, as I understand, there are fewer of them. Good luck with your wait list!

I assume you own at VWL. You should have made reservations for your stay there, then change over or book at SSR when the 7 month window opens. I suspect SSR will be easier to get than BWV. The problem is that you might not get either for all the days you want. Your options in part depend on the number of points available to you. Jan should be the easiest time and I suspect you'll have your choice in the end. If by chance you had enough points, the best approach from your standpoint would be the following.

Book VWL for the 1 BR for the 7 days. Then when the 7 month window opens ? tomorrow, book both BWV and SSR day by day. When you get to the last day or 2, you could then cancel everything you don't want and use the freed up points to continue. Of course most people don't have enough points to do what I am suggesting. Second option would depend on your risk tolerance. I'd book VWL then when the last day opens for the 7 month window, book the entire stay at SSR or BWV, depending on availability and your preferences. That way you have a single resort for the week either way, the only question is which one.

I dont think you will have any problems getting a 1br in January. I just booked a 2Br at SSR for Dec 17th through the 22nd (inside the 7 month window).

If you end up at BWV and want a quiet location, request the quiet pool/Community Hall area. These rooms are among the farthest from the elevators so you'll have minimal hallway noise. (FWIW, hallway noise is "louder" than nearly all of the noise that originates from the outside). The quiet pool is seldom crowded anfd IMHO, this area is very quiet. The only thing you'll need to worry about is "nosiy neighbors", but you might enocunter those anywhere and there's not a whole lot that can be done about them.

Good luck - hope you get your first choice!

i just called at the 7 month and got new year eve weekend in a studio and 2 bedroom with no problem, except ms did say very few studios are left and if i need another on to book now theynare going fast.

& months from now, it should be much easier to get a SSR room than it is today due to all of phase one being open by then, right?

Not only is inventory going to more than double the resort capacity by that time, but that time in January is not a busy time so I really do not think you're going to have trouble getting a room.

Good luck, though and let us know how it goes for you! :sunny:

I made a reservation this week (Monday) for Jan 2 - 8. I wanted a standard view studio at BWV and there were none, but I did get a studio at SSR with no wait list. Since we've not stayed in either, it really didn't matter to us.

Good luck and let us know what you got.

Maybe you should disregard my last message....I just got off the phone with MS. I tried to book a 1BR villa standard view at BWV for Jan 2 - 7th and it was not available. I was able to get SSR and be put on a waitlist for BWV.

I think your original post is correct. They cannot confirm a room now in buildings that have not been completed. So your logic about many more rooms in the inventory is sound.

I would be 99% sure a room in Jan will be available. But if you can, book at your home resort as a backup.

I began the day by day and at least got the 1st day booked. MS wasnt discouraging about it so I will keep my fingers crossed that it goes just as smooth from here on out. We booked a 1 bed at SSR. Looking forward to checking it out!

I'm guessing that the issue with getting BWV standard view of any room size is the small point cost. SSR was 20 more points for our length of stay than BWV would have been.

I am going to assume that the number of rooms at SSR is higher than the number of standard view rooms at BWV. SO, I'm sure that all BWV owners were able to snag up their standard views at the 11-month mark. This is going to make these inexpensive rooms highly coveted I think mostly because of their location and proximity to Epcot and MGM Studios. THAT'S why we preferred BWV over SSR for this trip, although, not enough to pay for a preferred view!

JimmyTammy -- good luck today!!! :teeth: Let us know what happens!

Finished DBD ressies for SSR today. Asked MS for a points activity sheet. Totally confusing:confused:

Oh well, we got what we wanted
