We won't be flying home until the day after our cruise comes in. WHat should we do for that day? Go to a disney park, universal, stay at a nice hotel with a pool relax, find a beach? HELP!! I feel like I have planned everything else and now I am stuck. We will be going the end of november if that helps.

If you are going after Thanksgiving go to the parks, especially if you have never seen them decorated for Christmas.

EPCOT is my favorite because you get to experience the holiday at each country and learn about their customs and traditions.

Who does your family consist of? (What ages?) What kind of cruise do you have planned? Is it one where you are actively going from activity to activity and you'll be up for some rest afterwards? Or is it pretty laid back and you won't mind some walking/running around for a day?

Have you been to Disney world before? If you haven't I think you'd be frustrated with wanting to see it all and only having a day to do so. If you've been a couple of times than it would be great to see the parks decorated for the holidays and the first part of December isn't that crowded. I agree that EPCOT is beautiful but if you have young ones, nothing can beat the MK and walking through "snow".

If you wanted to do Disney "lite" you could stay at one of the on property hotels to take advantage of their nice pool and you could even do a character meal without dealing with the hassle of actually going into the theme parks.

Tell us more details!

I'd stay at the BWI (our favorite) or any of the Epcot resorts. Then I would plan a day visiting all the resorts around Crescent Lake to see their beautiful Christmas decorations. After that walk, I would go to see the WL, the AKL, and the monorail resorts. The decorations will wow you. Have lunch in one of them that looks good to you and relax they day away.

Pools are always great at the deluxe resorts, esp. Epcot resorts. Personally, it will probably be way to chilly for me to swim in November, but that's what happens to you after you have lived in Fl for a few years. ;)

Staying onsite after your cruise is a great way to relieve some of the post cruise blues.

Thank you all for helping me. I have done some looking and the very merry christmas party will be on that thursday. So I am thinking that we can stay at one of the resorts, relax for the day and wonder around just the resorts and then do the party that night. It will be a late night but our plane won't leave until 11am so we can sleep in a little. What do you think?

I forgot to add that it will be me, hubby and girls that will be 7 and 9. We are going to wait and see with the cruise activites. COuld be relaxing could be go go go. Hopefully a little of both!

With girls that age and with the Christmas Party going on, that would be so so so much fun! It will especially be fun if the MK resorts fit your budget and taste. Being right on the monorail would be wonderful but a slightly less expensive option would be to stay at the Wilderness Lodge (just a quick boat ride from the MK).

The WL and the Poly have really great and fun pools! Plus then you'll be on a "beach" of sorts and can enjoy relaxing and then get to the party. The current trend is that even though the official starting time of the party is 7:00 p.m. you can get into the parks as early as 4:00 p.m. Also, if you rest up then you'll have no trouble staying awake for the special fireworks and parades and you're lucky that your next day flight doesn't take off too soon.

It will help ease the pain of leaving the ship to have something so much fun to look forward to!

We always plan to do a day at the parks help to make leaving the ship a little less sad:(
