Sorry, rough weekend, couldn't find time to report. Let me see, where are we? Aaahh yes.
Got up around 8:00, Skipped the gym again, why pay now, we're going home soon. And just why do you have to pay extra to use the gym?? You'd think with the price you're paying for the room it should be included. The hotel in Williamsburg included the gym.
Went to Spoodles for breakfast.
Sarah & Marie - Pancakes / Juice
Me - Eggs & Sausage / Juice.....$32.00 w/ tip
Went to EPCOT, first to Test Track for a fastpass, then to Innoventions to look around the garden exhibit. Nice stuff, bought some flowers to bring home as gifts as well as for ourselves. Also bought a few pictures.
Back to Test Track, get through the pre-ride talk and join the queue. We're in line ,Sarah & I, and there's a family behind us, Mom, Dad, two kids, boy about 7, girl about 5. The line is moving slow. The boy bumps me once, I ignore it. He bumps into and / or steps on my heels 2 or 3 times. I ignore it. Now he's walking on the railings between rows and bumping me, only higher up. OK, now it's time to give the parents the enough is enough look. They're oblivious. OK, maybe if we start talking about some retaliatory gestures. " Maybe if I swung the camera around and accidental whacked someone in the head, wouldn't that be tragic?" No looks of comprehension, just more bumps and abused heels. . Oh, swell, now not only is the line moving slow, the ride is down completely. We wait some more. We're moving again, we get maybe two cars from getting on and it's down once again. Do you think if Honda sponsored this ride it might move a little better?? Finally get on and enjoy our ride.
Went to Spaceship Earth, the beginning of the ride starts out really good but the "future" part of it is quite lame. Update is in order.
You can probably tell by now that there is alot that we choose not to see. The Land, Living Seas, Wonders of Life, Energy, haven't changed in at least the three years since I've been here. Probably longer. They changed Imagination, for the worst. I'm not trying to be negative here, honestly, Disney needs to come up with some fresh ideas. I could offer some but hey, that's what they pay their people for.
Anyway, walked around some to get some pictures, stopped at the Ice Station, God, that stuff from Italy is horrible. Doesn't taste bad at first but then that aftertaste hits you, awful!!
Must be time to eat by now.... Nine Dragons
Sarah - Shrimp Dumplings, Hot & Spicy Soup
Marie & Me - Hot & spicy soup
Combo ( Sesame chicken, Cashew Shrimp and Pepper Steak. )
Dessert was a Coconut Dumpling?? Not real sure what it was called. Inside was good, whatever the covering was was hard to get past.
One drink & one beer...............$64.00 w/ tip
This was an excellent meal, everything was great with the exception of dessert. More food than you can eat and very good. They have also slowed down their serving which is a good thing. Use to be order, BAM, food was there, more laid back now. Not only that but the waiters and waitresses even smile now. Used to be very proper. Highly recommended.
Shopped around World Showcase a bit, had to get a Beck's Dark at Germany, Yum.. Talked with a nice woman on the bench as the other two shopped, darn, she's from New Jersey too. Seems like every other person I talk to is from NJ.
Oh, look at this, the Grass Roots are playing tonight! Liked them when I was growing up.
Went back to swim, very hot now. Went and changed then to the pool. Seat are hard to come by. Found two, Marie stayed up, got a drink, settled in and we both fell asleep. One of those in and out sleeps where you kind of hear what's going on around you but on a different level. Woke up, jumped in the pool to shake the cobwebs, back to the room.
Have a 7:00 PS at Alfredo's. Showered and back to EPCOT. Caught OFF KILTER at Canada, if you've never heard them, give a listen, they rock. We had passed Morocco earlier in the afternoon and seen a stand doing henna tattoos but the person was not there. Now she was, Sarah wanted one. What the heck, only last a couple weeks. She gets one around her ankle. Looks cool. Starts off kinda reddish brown and is suppose to change to black. Woman says comes back in 15 minutes as I need to put some olive oil on it. No problem.
Go to watch Grass Roots, it's like memory lane, though I must confess some of the songs I didn't recognize and some I did recognize but didn't know they had written. Sarah went back for her olive oil treatment in between.
Went to dinner at Alfredo's
Shared an antipasto
Sarah & Marie shared sampler - ( Gnnochi, fetticini, lasagna )
Me - Veal Parm......1/2 bottle wine
Don't remember dessert.......$159.00 w/ tip
Funny story, the tattoo person had told Sarah to apply olive oil to the tattoo a couple of times the next day. Since we have no access to olive oil in our hotel we asked our waiter if he could supply a little bit. The only container we had was a water bottle. We asked for a bit and he came back with a full bottle of olive oil wrapped in napkins. I won't mention your name but keep your hands off my daughter, I mean, thanks for the oil.
I've seen alot of negative things on the boards about Alfredo's but we think it's a decent meal. The people who say they don't get enough to eat must .......eat alot? I wasn't hungry when I left.
Out to watch Illuminations, what? it's not blocked off!! My favorite spot in front of Italy and I can hear the Grass Roots doing their last set over at the stage. Life is good.
Enjoy the show and walk back, wish Sarah was old enough to hang out at ESPN for awhile, I need to see some sports. Fortune Teller is on duty tonight with no shortage of customers. Cool. Lob -a- Lobster doing well. Life on the Boardwalk, isn't it grand!!
Good night!!
