Day 6 (29 Aug 2003) Magic Kingdom (am) and Epcot (pm)
After a quick breakfast in the room, we headed to Magic Kingdom. We got there just after the opening ceremony, but walked through security and entry without a wait! We had completely missed Adventureland on Wed, so we started there. We hopped on Aladdins Magic Carpets and rode it 4 times without having to get off. After finally convincing DDs that there were other things to do, we headed to Pirates of the Carribean, walking straight on to a boat. After that, DD1 wanted to ride Splash and the Teacups again. We walked through the standby line twice and got right on the ride both times. DH and I have to take turns on that one because DD2 is too small for Splash. Then on the train to Toontown. We walked through Toontown to the Teacups, which we rode twice. Then it was lunchtime. We headed back towards Adventureland with the intention of going on the Jungle Cruise after lunch. We had lunch a Pecos Bills. DH had the cheeseburger basket and loaded up his burger at the toppings bar. I had the chicken wrap while DDs split the hotdog kids meal. All was yummy! As we headed to the Jungle Cruise, we got distracted by the wandering pirate show. Then DD1 showed her ugly side. After a timeout in the park, we decided to skip the Jungle Cruise and head back to the resort for naptime. A quick stop for a Dolewhip and off to the resort. After a refreshing 3 hour nap (for the girls), we headed towards Epcot. We got to Epcot about 3:30 and rode Spaceship Earth. Then off to the World Showcase. We started in Mexico with a Margarita (lime for DH, Fiesta for me), and moved straight on to Norway. In Norway, DDs played on the Viking ship and we rode Maelstrom which DDs enjoyed. Then did some window shopping in Norway. Then on to the Traders Post where DD1 joined the African drummers and storytellers. She had a great time with that. After that we moved on to China. We had a great time in the shop in China, and ended up buying Chinese Zodiac necklaces for both girls as well as some cute wooden ducks. Then on to Germany where DH picked up some Becks and I grabbed a glass of wine. Then I wandered around Germany while DH played with DDs. I found some beautiful wine glasses, but couldnt bring myself to spend $65 a stem. Maybe another time! Instead I bought 4 of the $8 each wine glasses etched with Mickey heads! After Germany, it was on to Italy for our 6pm PS for Alfredos. This was by far the best meal we had at WDW. Upon the recommendation of our server (Vera), we ordered a bottle of wine that was outstanding. DH had the Veal Parma special and it was to die for. I dont normally care for veal, but the bite of his I tasted was divine! I had the pasta trio (Gnocchi with marinara sauce, Fettuccini Alfredo, and Lasagna). All of it was outstanding. DD1 had the chicken nuggets, and DD2 swam through a bowl of spaghetti and meatballs. Then for dessert, DDs split a Strawberry Mousse and DH and I split a Vanilla cream puff thingy that was awesome. After dinner we headed outside for an apertif of Chianti from the wineshop. We then caught the last Friendship cruise back to Mexico and went back to the resort for the evening. After bathing the girls, I headed downstairs to pick up some souvenirs that I had already scoped out! By the time I got back, DD2 was sound asleep but DD1 was waiting for me because I had promised her a special surprise for her last night at WDW. So she put her shoes on and we headed outside for the EWP (she had slept through it every other night). We could see it from our room, but there was a tree that blocked a couple of the boats, so you couldnt see everything. Tomorrow, we go home.
