We wake up early and I'm really surprised they remembered my birthday. How old are you they ask and my loving husband answers "mommy's 30 today". "30, 30 holy cow that's like so old, that's old! That's old!" I'm okay with that, until my 5 year old son says loudly "Mom's an old fart" and starts to laugh. We had a nice breakfast though. My husband of nearly ten years ordered room service for the first time, later found out costed us nearly $40 for breakfast. We slowly enjoyed our very expensive breakfast and then started getting everyone ready for the beach. We had heard from a friend of a beach called New Smyrna Beach about an hour northeast of Orlando. It was very nice. We were able to drive right up to the water's edge. That first glimpse of the ocean was magnificent. It was our first time at the beach even my husband and I. We grew up as poor immigrants so we didn't have money for vacations so this first experience was wonderful. The sand was so white and fine. The water was blue, the tides calm not rough at all. We went to park and my husband overdid it on the gas and got us stuck in the sand. There was sand flying everywhere around us and we have a minivan. Well the kids got tired of the van after having been in it for the two month it seems like, we just came back from Houston, Washington DC, and Louisana and back before Orlando and we live in Texas and we drove the van every time, so they demanded out. We let them out and pitched up camp for the day, umbrella, towels. Then I hear commotion and turn around and it's daddy and my daughter's who's four fighting over the shovel "let daddy borrow the shovel so I could dig out our tires honey" she finally let him after he told her he was taking her to meet Cinderella tommarrow. We finally got the tires dug out and I reveresed while he pushed, this time I looked for compacted sand. We had a terrific day. I was in knee deep water when I stepped on something looked down and saw it was a crab, screamed and ran for it. My husband later stepped on and caught said crab who happened to be clawless I might add. The kids decided to put him into a bucket and keep him. My kids loved it, they ran up and down the shore looking for seashells. They've never seen them before. We finally left after about 6 1/2 hours exhausted, the kids feel asleep before we even left the beach area. My husband treated me to dinner at my favorite type of restaraurant that night chinese, seafood, buffet. I knew something was wrong though when midway in my first plate I felt sick to my stomach I had sunstoke, and I hurt to even sneeze, and my son said I looked like an "obster" that's "lobster" if you don't understand the strangeness of children. In the exitement of the morning and trying to get all three kids sunscreened all by myself I forgot to get some on me.
