ME – turned 37 on this trip, first time planning a trip, and boy did we have fun!
DH – 34 – couldn’t believe how many hours I spent planned this trip, but he gets it now!
ODS – 11
YDS – 8

Monday 3/1

Normal wake up time, but this time to the chorus of “Happy Birthday.” Didn’t really need that at 7am, but the kids were excited. Headed to POR food court for a quick bite, then onto MGM. I had collected birthday buttons along the way, so had one on my shirt and the others on my back-pack. Spent the day saying "Thank you" to everyone that said Happy Birthday, CMs, other guests, etc.

Arrive at MGM, head directly to ToT, all four of us walk-on, then YDS announced he wants to ride RnR. DH and ODS chicken out, so it’s just me and the 8yo, and again walk right on. We had a blast. We then did Star Tours (DH is a huge Star Wars fan) and had to drag DH out of the gift shop. Went to the Indiana Jones Stunt show, and DH was picked to be an extra, so that was fun to watch. Had lunch at the Back stage restaurant, nothing exceptional, but the salad was a nice change from burgers and chicken strips.

Other things we did, Little Mermaid show, Great Movie ride, WWTBAM. Right around 3pm the kids start wondering when we are going on all the rides, and start complaining they don’t want to do any more shows. Now it’s Monday and we’re not scheduled to go to MK until Thursday. So there I am, standing in the middle of MGM on my cell phone, canceling PSs for Tuesday at Epcot, rescheduling our Family Magic Tour from Thursday to Tuesday, and switching everything around to get the kids to MK the next day. DH is just standing there, shaking his head, not believing I’m actually doing this. We walk around the shops for a while before our 4:10 PSs for H&V Fantasmic package. One of the CMs asks if Goofy has sung to me yet, and gets him on the phone. Very cute, I’m standing there listening to Goofy giggling like a little girl, the other people are walking around me looking at me like I’m strange or something.

Head to H&V for dinner. Good selection of food, although YDS decides tonight is the night to be a picky eater, but hey it’s my birthday and if you want to eat bread & butter and ice cream for dinner, go right ahead! At this point DH turns to me and says “I can’t believe you planned all of this, you should really do this for a living!” I looked at him, and actually thought I saw a light bulb above his head, Yep, he FINALLY gets it!!! He finally understands all the hours I put into this trip, the endless phone calls, the DISboards, everything!! At the end of the meal the CM brings out a cupcake and sings Happy Birthday, seems DH called them yesterday from the resort to let them know it was my B-day. Very cute!!

Walk around a while before heading to Fantasmic. Now here’s something they don’t tell you… When you go to Oscar’s garage to take the “back-route” to Fantasmic… it is a HIKE, and UPHILL to boot!!! The CM tells you to just “follow the yellow line” so you walk, and walk, and then you see the hill and now realize you have to walk UP the hill!! By that point I was tired, and walking up hill was not something I really wanted to do, but oh well, guess it was better than waiting in line to get in. DH was talking to a CM who said the theatre holds 7,000 people, and tonight they were expecting about 6,000. Sat down around 6:15, and had fairly good seats. The boys went to run around for a while behind the bleachers to release some energy, not sure how they still have some, but they do.

Within 2 minutes of them being gone, ODS comes back saying YDS fell. He is standing at the top of the bleachers and you can see the blood on his knees. DH goes and gets him and off they are to clean up. Figure they’ll be got 5-10 minutes… nope 1/2 hour later I call DH on his cell… they are at first aid filling our forms to get a band-aid for the child. They barely made it back in time for Fantasmic. Fantasmic was wonderful!! It was the first time I’ve seen it and I was blown away, just incredible!!

We headed out of MGM as quickly as possible, hop right onto the bus to POR and head back to the resort, and call it an early night.

The not so good… really nothing, maybe when YDS fell, but he was fine.

The great… spending my B-day at Disney, and going on RnR with my baby, can't beleive how big he is getting.

Tomorrow – MK & DTD

What a great birthday! And such a good mom to rearrange all your carefully made plans. Everybody in the family thinks you're crazy to plan 3 months ahead, but when they arrive and everything falls neatly into place, THEN they're thankful.

Great report, Sweetpea!

Great report Eileen! It sounds like you had a nice birthday. We did the Fantasmic Dinner package at H & V on the Thursday before you did and I thought the food was good. I know what you mean about planning WDW vacations! It does take a lot of time and energy getting everything just right and I'm sure my DW doesn't have a clue! I enjoy the heck out of doing it though, and wouldn't want it any other way!:sunny:
