Day 4 (27 Aug 2003) Magic Kingdom
This is actually the day I was looking forward to most because I wanted to see DDs reactions to what I consider the epitome of Disney magic. I was not disappointed! We headed straight for Fantasyland and the Teacups. After riding the Teacups 3 times in a row without getting off, I convinced DDs that we needed to get off the ride and try something else. We then moved on to the Indy Speedway. After that we got FPs for Winnie the Pooh, then went and rode Snow White and Cinderellas carrousel twice each as well as Dumbo once. Then we rode Winnie the Pooh. After that we moved on to Peter Pan and pulled FPs for that. While waiting for Peter Pan, we rode Its a Small World and the Carrousel again. Then back to Peter Pan where we saw Peter Pan and Wendy in line! After Peter Pan, DH went to change DD2s diaper while DD1 and I checked out the wait for Haunted Mansion. The posted wait was 5 minutes, so we went to the Haunted Mansion. DD1 was a little nervous (DD2 is young enough to be clueless), but we had seen the planning video so many times that DD1 was excited to see HM. She had a great time, even with the hitchhikers which she was NOT prepared for. We then headed to Cosmic Rays for lunch. I had a Chicken Caesar Salad which was yummy. DH had the Big Dipper (stacked) sandwich and DDs split a chicken strips meal. DDs were pretty much maxed (I got their meal first), and DH finished lunch before me (I was interrupted by a potty break), so he leaves with DDs, and heads back to the resort for nap. For the first time this trip, we (they) successfully make it back to the resort before kids fall asleep! After I finish lunch, I head to Splash Mountain for FPs. The FP return time is too soon for us by 30-45 minutes, so I hop on the train for a circuit of Magic Kingdom. When I get back to Frontierland, I hop off the train, pull FPs for Splash, hop back on the train (same train!) and head for Main Street. Hop on the monorail, and I am back at the CR in no time. I tiptoe back into my room since everyone else is sleeping! After nap, we head back to the Magic Kingdom. Since the Share a Dream Come True Parade is starting, we hop on the train to Frontierland to use our FPs for Splash. This is the first time we have had to use the child swap, and it worked like a charm. DD1 and I used our FPs while DD2 and DH waited near the FP entrance. Then I grabbed DD2, while DH took DD1 on Splash again. DD1 thought this was awesome and wanted to go again!! While DH and DD1 were riding, the daily storm started to roll in, so I headed under the bridge that you have to exit under and found the little play area. So DD2 played in there while waiting for DH and DD1. After that, we hopped on the train again, and headed for Toon Town. We were a little disappointed in Toon Town, but DD1 loved Goofys Barnstormer (DD2 was just too short to ride). While DH and DD1 were in line, DD2 and I wandered into Minnies Country House, and I wasnt sure I was going to get her out! She sat down in front of the oven in Minnies kitchen and would not move. She LOVED the cake baking in the oven!! After DH and DD1 finished with Goofy Barnstormer, we headed to Tomorrowland, pulled FPs for Buzz, then sat down for a snack. After snack, we hopped on the TTA for 2 circuits, then out FPs for Buzz were ready to go. After Buzz, we headed back to the resort where we had dinner at the Concourse Steakhouse. DH had the special which was a sesame encrusted tuna steak with wasabi aioli. He said it was delicious! I had the filet, which I literally cut with a butter knife! DD1 had the PB&J on rainbow brad and DD2 had the hot dog. Both DDs had the artists pallet for dessert (Mickey head sugar cookie that could be decorated with frosting and sprinkles) while DH and I split a Crème Brulee (one of my all time faves). Then back to the room for bath and bed. Tomorrow Animal Kingdom!
