Day 3 Animal Kingdom and MGM
Up early again and got to Animal Kingdon for 7.50 am. Almost first in line but didn't check the time before we left as the park didn't open until 8.30. However there was a very amusing tree who joined us in the line and got very friendly with a man called Dave. The characters came at 8.20 all in safari suits/hats and then we were in.

The park was very quiet and we headed straight for the Kilimanjaro Safari. I felt like a park ranger myself herding the family along and stopping their dives off in one direction or another into those interesting little shops and buildings. It paid off being disciplined as we saw lots of animals who were feeding and alert. Not too sure about the little scenario about the poachers though,it seemed to detract rather than enhance the experience. Went straight into the Pangani Trail next and we all really enjoyed looking at the animals especially the gorillas. One was laid on his back dipping a toe in the stream and really chilling out. The atmosphere here was different from the other parks, the vegetation seemed to concentrate the humidity and with the bird, animal and insect noises it was not hard to imagine you were in the tropics.

Next ride was the Kali River Rapids, park was still quiet so this was again a walk-on. We got wet but it was so refreshing. We shared the boat with another family who had come straight back on as they didn't get wet the first time. The mum did this time, ight up over her head as she was facing back to the fountain in the middle.

After browsing along, I tended to relax the Sergeant Major routine after we had done at least 2 of the main rides, the heat slowed me down I think, we arrived at Dinoland. We went on what looked to be a very fun ride Primeval Whirl and at first I enjoyed it but as we started to spin as well as go up high I started to feel very upset and tearful. I knew it was only a few minutes but boy was I glad to get off that. I vowed that that was the last #thrill ride I would go on and to stick to the more sedate rides in future.

We had some fun on the carnival games and managed to win at least 4 furry friends.
After some lunch we headed back for F. W. for a rest and then a swim in the pool. This was to be the pattern of our days as we found the heat just tired us out by mid-day.

Refreshed and hungry we headed off for MGM and dinner at the Prime Time Cafe.
Now, I had high hopes of this restaurant as my husband loves to banter with the waitresses/waiters and I was hoping that they would give him a run for his money. We arrived like drowned rats as we had our first experience of the thunderstorms just as we were watching a parade of cars. It was interesting to observe how the parade moved much quicker at the end as the rain came down like cats and dogs.

'Mom' was very good with us, she even got 'Dad' to come and sort Tony out for his elbows on the table but the food was so good that we all had clean plates so there was no need for anyone to be fed but we did see this happening. It was a young waiter who was really going to town on another family who was causing the most laughs. The fried chicken was very good.
All the children wanted to do next was go on the Tower of Terror and Rock & Roller Coaster. We all went through the TOT but I went down the 'chicken' elevator. I wanted to experience the theming which was very authentic and spooky but after the funny turn that morning I wasn't risking it Out came 3 very satified customers. R&RC was very busy so we went on my favourite ride at MGM. The Great Movie Ride. They also went on Star Wars.

When we got back to FW we went along the beach looking for the Electrical Water Pageant but like the Loch Ness Monster it was not to be seen. These early starts and all the walking all meant that we were going to bed and to sleep early for us on holiday.
Highlight of the day was the unique sights and sounds of the Animal Kingdom. I hope this is the way of the future for animal conservation. I always remember as a child watching the lions in the Blackpool Tower zoo and feeling very sorry for them just lying there with such apathy in their eyes.
Negative aspect was my reaction to being whirled around and getting upset but it didn't last too long

...... I'm glad you liked Animal Kingdom :)
I've not been to Prime Time but I think this has to be on the list for the next visit - I've always worried that I may not be hungry enough to finish my meal and then getting told off! I have heard of people having to stand in the corner LOL!!

I wish they'd dump the little skit at the safari too; it gets tiresome. I also wish they'd slow down a little. :(

Another great read.............have to agree about the hunt for Little Red

We loved Prime Time - DS's girlfriend didnt eat all her meal, our 'Mom' tried to feed her but she would have any of it, so she got put in the corner - just sooooooo funny. (Emma wasnt amused I have to say though!) Great interaction with all the staff and they were trying to pair up a young boy of about 10 with a little girl on another table. They set up a tiny table with a Rose in a Vase and everything - it was so cute.

Thanks for the fab report - luv reading them!!!
