Our first day in The States.
As expected, due to the five hour time lapse, we were all up early. After laying in bed for a while, we decided to go to Walmart to buy some drinks for the parks. I bought a small backpack to take to the parks for drinks, a change of socks, rain ponchos and small snacks.
Despite it being 5:30am, US192 is already buzzing with cars and people (does this place ever sleep)? As we leave the hotel, we see the Orange Blossom Balloon vans arrive.
The drive to Walmart is slick, although the road works along US192east as you go past the SR535 junction look like they will cause traffic snarl ups later in the holiday if we go that way.
After Walmart and dropping off our shopping at the room, we get to Golden Corral for opening time at 7:00am. $3.99 for breakfast is not bad as it includes free refill orange juice, milk, coffee, tea and soda in the price. Branded chocolate milk was extra. Everything is on the menu and it will become a firm favourite as the holiday goes on.
We arrive at SeaWorld for opening time and are able to get on Krakken, Journey to Atlantis without any wait at all. Unlike Universal, lockers not to the rides are not free for a limited time and cost 50c each time you lock them.
As it's Hayleys 10th Birthday on Saturday, we book the Dine with Shamu Dinner for then. They do two sittings, first at 4.30pm and one at 6.30pm. Both were booked for today, but Saturday was fine. Total cost for the four of us was $109 including tax. We are giving a ticket and asked to confirm our seating on Friday.
The new Clyde & Seymour show was not open until Memorial Day. We done Shamu (great as always) and a few other shows. Sally (DW) loved the free bud at the tent and the kids, Shamu's Happy harbor. We remembered that they have a wet section in SHH, so bought a change of socks for them. The concrete is always too hot to allow them to walk barefoot.
We leave about 3:00pm as the early start is catching up with us. After a planned short rest of an hour, Wonderworks is on the cards. The short rest turned into about 5 and I wake up at 8:30pm. To avoid falling into the jet lag trap I coherse us to go out for something to eat. Hayley wants Pizza Hut. The nearest seated location is along US192 next to Old Town. The pizza is lovely and plentiful, so we had the rest "to-go".
Back to the hotel after a long day.

P.S. I do have loads of pics. Any ideas on how to post?
