It just didn't feel right to go to WDW and not start with Studios (As it was my very first WDW Park and yes Coaster was my first WDW ride)- even though it was early entry I decided to not break tradition- We breezed through bag check and the turnstiles and headed down Hollywood and Sunset till Coaster appeared- I was home. It had changed but I was home. The changes: the new Aerosmith song loop outside is nice (and more appropriate) the new carpet inside is hideous (and I've been told its better now that its worn in a bit) but the rest was the same-
After Coaster we headed to Tower where I *really* liked the new drop sequences (yes I know old news but hey it was new to me) then it was off to Star Tours (Rachel's choice) and lunch at Mama Melrose's. Mamas was the only sit down place I had never eaten at in Studios so I had to choose it. It was pretty good little "fluffy" menu wise (Plain ol Spaghetti wasn't on the menu) but I enjoyed it- It was off to the shortened back lot tour (and if you wondered where the front of the Black Pearl was its now there) and then we hit One Mans Dream (where Rachel currently works) and I was forced to do the Animation tour alone (long story) I wasn't impressed at *all* -
The Mushu thing was good (like DCA) but the rest of the tour sucked. Personally if you try to hide the fact there once was a studio there HIDE all aspects of it- The old room where you used to look into the studio- you get trapped by a CM that really doesn't know much history giving a history of animation then you get to walk down the hall with all the darkened studio windows- Personally I would've put a fake wall there and did some kind of mural or something- It just was depressing for those who knew how it used to be. Then It was time for BEAR! It was a good show but I noticed that all of the characters were a bit ratty which was kinda sad- Rachel knew someone working there and they got me Bear's autograph!
Then it was time for Stars and Cars- Not my favorite parade but any parade with Bear and Lilo is fine by me- After we took the boat over to Epcot and I made the mad dash to the Pin Store, where I met up with a group from Laughingplace.com- Chrisrails, Kangaandroo (also a DISer) and Teri (also a DISer). We waited a bit then headed around World Showcase and just chatted.
We stopped in France to see the perfume garden where Annika tempted Disney fate and stole a flower- We continued around World Showcase until we ended up back at the beginning, Teri had to leave (it was awesome meeting you!) and the rest headed back to France so I could meet up with Rachel (who really didn't want to hang with internet axe murderers) Rachel and her friend soon split as it was a little windy (but still *really* warm and nice to me) Illuminations was amazing as usual and Annika loved it- After we headed out where I met up with Rachel again as we took a bus back to Studios and then home. It was great hanging out with Chris again and meeting Stacey and Annika-
