So we checked in Sunday night which I posted previously. Monday my DD (13) and I slept late and then hung out at the Dunes pool for the day. A bit boring but very restful. Got to the pool at about 11:30 and just one adult there doing laps. Pool towels are tiny, (as are the towels in the rooms), based on previous experience we brought our own large beach towels. Pool was very quiet and pleasant as we had quite the mother daughter bonding, reading junky magazines and doing SODUKUs together (math crossword puzzles, just a little nerdy). For lunch we walked over to the Marketplace for Refillable Soda mugs and sandwiches. The marketplace is a vast improvement over our previous BC visit (pre BCV DVC) and is great for a quick lunch or snack. Sandwiches and salads made to order, DD had chicken ceasar salad, I had Roast Beef & Brie sandwich. We succumbed to the refillable mugs!! When we were checking out the cashier initially didn't charge us for purchasing the mugs but I let her know we hadn't bought them yet. I asked her if there is anyway they mark them so they know they have been purchased and she said no. I only wonder how many people walk in and grab a refillable mug and walk out....I hope not many.

Around 3 pm the pool got very crowded with lots of families with small children (just returned from the parks). Just one comment, do not let your preschooler scream "help, help me, help me" without you grabbing him immediately. More than one parent stood at the edge of the pool and replied "you're ok, just swim, you can do it" to their screaming child. This is not the time to coach your child to the side, do it at home in your own pool. The retired lifeguard in me jumped everytime I heard the little voice. Advice, jump in, grab your child and tell them "we don't scream help me unless we really need help, if you can't swim over your head don't use the noodle, life jacket whatever in deep water, stay in the shallow end" and most of all, stay within arms length of a child who can't swim. It is very stressful and annoying for the rest of us at the pool.

At night we went to Pleasure Island to go to the movies (something we had never done in our previous 20+ Disney visits). DD really wasn't hungry so we snacked on sushi at Wolfgang Puck Express (great, I'd love to go back for a meal) and popcorn in the movie. Saw "Failure to Launch", hysterical. The theater was pretty great, huge comfy chairs and for those of you who appreciate a little extra room, the armrests raise giving you a sofa like seat (I only noticed it as I was leaving)! DD wasn't up for any wildness so we went back to the BCV after the movie.

OK so my only pet peeve, the transportation. We usually rent a car but decided to "go native" this time and rely on the the Disney transportation system. We left our room at about 6:30 walked to the bus stop just as a full bus was leaving for PI, next bus came at about 6:55, made one stop at Boardwalk and finally reached our PI stop at 7:30 (we missed the 7:20 movie). If you are using the buses definitely allow plenty of time!!!! After our movie which got out at about 10:00 we again just missed a full bus back to the resort. Next bus came around 10:25 and we had the last seats on the bus. We got back to the room around 11:00 pm. I have always suspected that everything is further away than it looks, I would like to clock it on an odometer once. Magical Express bus driver said Disney is larger than the state of RI, as unbelievable as that statement sounds, it definitely feels that way when you are taking the bus to get somewhere!!!

Today, (Tuesday) will probably be more of the same, rest & relaxation, daughter is still sleeping at nearly 11 am. DH, DS (18) & DS (10) arrive later tonite so we will try to do a late dinner with them. The kids, and maybe the adults will probably try to hit the parks tomorrow, we'll see.

Having a great time, wish you were here!!! :sunny:

I know all about the teenagers sleeping late.
