Me--49 year old Disney planner
DC1--42 year old cousin
DC2--DC1’s 7 year old daughter

Up early and caught the 7:30 boat to MK. Arrived in time for the countdown to opening. Then straight through the castle and to Fantasyland. We did every ride, some twice, with no waiting at all. Even as Disney newbies, we knew this was special. DC2 was having a ball. So were we old folks. We saved Small World until later and headed to Tomorrowland. Did the Indy Cars, Buzz two times, and the TTA. We hit Toontown right after the 10:00 opening. Minnie was in front of her house posing and signing autographs. We got in line, and, of course, right as we get close to Minnie the CM announced the cut-off. We were the next family in line and the CM said something about the Hall of Fame. We obviously did not get what was going on. All of a sudden , Minnie grabbed DC2’s hand and off they went!! Through Minnie’s house, out the back door, through the back yard and then past all the people waiting in line at the Hall of Fame. Let me tell you, that mouse can really move in those high heels. Me and DC1 were really hoofing it trying to keep up with them. We had some very special time with Minnie and Chip and Dale alone in their room. What a magical moment!!! When it was all over, we just looked at each other and said, “what in the world just happened?” We then moved on and finished up Toontown. We saw the other characters--no lines-- and rode the Barnstormer. By now we had worked up quite an appetite, so we hit Pinocchio’s Village Haus and chowed down. Then on to Small World. DC1 decides this is her favorite ride. Me and DC2 could barely stand it. That song just annoyed us no end. We had a good time giving DC1 a hard time about it. We then headed out and stopped on Main Street to do a little shopping and picked up a Pal Mickey. DC2 wore it around her neck the rest of the week and seemed to love it. I never got a chance to become acquainted with Pal Mickey, so I can’t really give a review. Caught the boat back to FT Wilderness and took a rest and homework break. Then swimming in the big pool and supper at the cabin. We decided we were tired from the trip down and we would just take it easy the rest of the day. We hit the Campfire Sing-a-long and DC2 really had a blast. She roasted marshmellows and enjoyed the singing. Chip and Dale made an appearance. Another highlight of the day--all the children were called to the stage to sing. The song??--yep, you guessed it--It’s a Small World. DC2 was just so disgusted and us adults had a good laugh at her expense. We left before the movie started and called it a day. But what a magical day it was!!! Tomorrow--EE at AK.

Don't you just love those special moments of Disney magic with the characters?!

oh, and did you know...
it's a small world after all...
it's a small world after all....
it's a small world after all...
it's a small, small world!

Don't you just love having it stuck in your head again?
:) :) :) :)

Hehehehe ... I dragged my DH to WDW in 1992 for a family vacation (me, my dad, my 3 sisters, husbands, kids) ... we had a blast but his favorite ride???? You guessed it ... IASW, LOL!

so glad you found some magic..thanks for sharing!

sounds like a great first day at the parks!!

IASW is one of those rides that you just have to ride at least once on your trip. there's this vortex that just sucks you in as you try so hard to walk right by!!

my sister and her DH are going to WDW next year with me and my DH and the one ride that she said she would absolutely not ride? you guessed it! IASW!!! lol

How perfect was Minnie grabbing her hand. She must have loved that.

We took my DD's friend and we all rode IASW(much to the dismay of my family), and she came off with the same feeling as us-never again.

Wonderful report ~ Thanx for sharing.
