Day 2. BWV (one bedroom) 4/8
CAST: Myself 40ish
Friend Sandy 50ish
Both traveling sans children and hubbies
Woke up with a fuzzy head (must have been too much magic) made my pot of dunkin donuts coffee .aaahhhh! I even brought my own spring water for the coffee, spoiled huh? Why is it so hard to get real cream in Florida, everyone uses half-n-half ..I gotta have my REAL cream so I was glad I brought some (though I had to buy heavy cream). There is no such thing as light cream like you get up north .strange. Another beautiful day, nice and breezy, not too hot. We showered and went down to the boardwalk for a breakfast wrap at the bakery (shared it, big enough for two) and sat and people watched for a while. I was surprised at the price of the donuts in the Boardwalk bakery ..for a mom to buy 2 donuts each for 2 children,,,,she would pay $6.40! Yikes, you can get a whole box for that price elsewhere, but I digress. Boats were coming and going and the DVC kiosk attracted some curious people. We, as Florida residents, can use our own pools anytime, so we didnt bother taking the time to use theirs. Besides, I didnt want to show Sandy up by wearing my thong J
We took the boat over to Epcot and did Honey I Shrunk the Audience (Sandy loved that) and strolled through Innoventions. We watched kids getting wet in the fountains,,,,too funny! Then we headed to WS and was stopped along the way by a CM named Larry (maintenance worker), who noticed my lanyard and gave me some great tips on trading, and was just really very friendly. Sandy was very impressed by the CMs and their friendliness. We walked through WS and caught a few street shows and did more people-watching. We thought about doing Test Track but didnt. We watched the American Adventure show (Sandy sniffled through the whole thing LOL) which I highly recommend (the animatronics were truly amazing) .then we had lunch at the Liberty Inn (fast food place, but not bad) next to America, and not to be confused with the Liberty Tree Tavern. We waited for the statue show to start but it was running late and we wanted to get back and get ready for our Cirque du Soleil show at six. (Bought tix by mail a couple of weeks prior).
We caught the bus at the BWV for DD and got there just before the show started. We had great seats, and here I would like to tell you that if you catch the Cirque du Soleils La Nouba show,,,,try to get seats that are NOT up front ..I was glad we were up high or my neck would have been stiff from looking up (lots going on in that show). I think if youre going during a high season, you will want to get your tix months in advance, from what I hear. It was well worth the 68 or so bux we paid, thoroughly enjoyed it! I especially liked the four young girls with their spools and string thingies. It last about an hour and a half with no intermission, but they sold refreshments, including beer and wine and popcorn, in the lobby of the theatre. Cant wait to go back with my teens, I could see that show over and over J
We strolled around DD after the show, grabbed a bite at a fast food place,,,chili dogs, fries and coke, real health food! We then went to the Comedy Warehouse .it was too funny! They do a show like that one with Drew Carey (Whose line is it Anyway) ..improvisation. I think they had a show every hour, and of course, each show is different as the skits are based on audience info and suggestions. They serve drinks during the show, as well. If you get there late, dont worry, youll still get good seats, you just may not get a place to park your drink. After the show we headed over to Live Music again, and the Elliot Dyson Show .when we walked in, Elliot stopped playing and said Hey folks, give a big welcome for my sisters, Mary and Sandy! Good memory! He then dedicated a song to us J Nice touch! We stayed for about an hour, as we were exhausted from the nite before, LOL, then headed back to the BWV .stopping at the ESPN club to get a sandwich to take back to the room. Only had to wait 5 minutes for it, and then went home for the nite. I fell onto the sofa again, and didnt budge till the next morning. ( I didnt bother to pull out the sofa bed,,,figured it would be lumpy anyway).
Sandy was leaving in the morning and Im really sorry we didnt see illuminations,,,,we just couldnt fit it into the cramped schedule.
