Monday November 1st part 2
I was a bit nervous, although I had pmd Rhys, and had even seen a picture it was quite daunting to meet up with someone you have never spoken to. I got to the fast pass machines and there were two people standing in the shadows (insert suspense music) . Eh Rhys & Jessica? Aruna? So wheres the penguin? Was my first introduction to Rhys subtle ways. I pointed out that he was in the backpack and that I was wearing a penguin T-shirt which seemed to satisfy him. Jessica was a lot easier to please, I gave her the Dory pin and she was as happy as, well as Dory I suppose! In return I got loaded with beads and told the story of how they were actual beads off the float of the Halloween Horror Nights at Universal and that R&J had been part of the parade! That soon broke the ice and we started nattering away and basically hardly stopped all day.
As we were standing right next to the fastpass machines, it would have been rude not to use them, so we got some fastpasses and then went to check out the wait times and R&R Coaster. We were soon waiting for our limo and I told R&J about how DH and I had once put our sunglasses on on the ride just to look cool for the photo. So of course we had to out-cool that. During our many rides that day we did a lot of fun poses, varying from asleep to Austin Powers (dont ask!)
We followed that up with a quick trip to the 5th dimension and then headed over to the Sci Fi diner for lunch. We had a short wait, so we browsed the shop next door where R&J found some stuff they wanted to buy later for Christmas presents. Our table was called within abou 10 minutes, we had a car to ourselves, and I was the hitchhiker in the back seat. We then headed over to the Sci Fi diner for lunch. Our fastpasses to the 5th dimension must have had a hold on us, as we all ordered the same.. Burgers with extra bacon . Spooky!
Luckily we all have iron dispositions, so we had no problem going straight back to ToT for our fastpass time. The ride was great as always, though I miss the lapbar, being fairly slender I usually got a lot of airtime! After we got some more fastpasses and then went off to do the rest of the park. WeWe then headed over to the Sci Fi diner for lunch. We had a short wait, so we browsed the shop next door where R&J found some stuff they wanted to buy later for Christmas presents. We went on Star Tours, getting in to the back row for the best effect, which was fun as always. And then it happened . Rhys fell in Love!!!
It was in Tattooine Traders, She (giving you the benefit of the doubt here Rhys!) lit up when she saw him she was tall, slim and had all the right moves. Heck, she even made the right noises! Is there a more moving sight than the passion of one man for a light sabre? Well actually, yes. And after we mopped up the drool we dragged Rhys out of the shop! I did manage to get a pic of JJ with one of his other friends first. That penguin has more of a social life than I have!!
After that it was off to the backlot tour to sit down for a while, we had hoped that R&J could get picked for the Pearl Harbour scene, but the tour was just starting so no luck there, Jess was sitting on the right side of the tram to get wet at Catastrophe Canyon though! We finished up the afternoon with another lot of rides on ToT and R&R. Backtracked again to get the shopping done for R&J. ( Rhys spotted me drooling over the huge cookies and treated me and Jess to one. They were huge, I nibbled half during fantasmic and had the rest for breakfast. Yum!) and then over to Fantasmic.
I had forgotten how long a walk it is to the stadium . And how hard the seats are when you finally get there
But they just opened another section so we got good seats & then enjoyed a fantastic show. Afterwards we joined the herd leaving the park. I had made a PS at the Cape May Café, but we were all still stuffed from our burgers, so we nixed that idea. We did decide we would still go to Epcot and see Illuminations though. Very brave of R&J as they had had a morning till (past) midnight night yesterday, but they didnt have much choice as their shuttle left from the Epcot parking lot, so they had to go there anyway.
I convinced R&J that we were better walking to Epcot as the boats would be packed and we would have to wait anyway, they were game and we had a nice pleasant stroll via the Boardwalk (which Rhys will insist on calling Broadwalk some wishful thinking there!) and on into Epcot; which was packed!! R&J grabbed a beer in England and we found a peaceful bench in Canada to sit and sup. I didnt have any ID with me so no booze for me, which is a bit weird as I was the eldest in the party .
It was quite difficult to find a spot for Illuminations as it was so full, we got a great portion of nachos at the Cantina de San Angel and staked a place a bit further on. Illuminations was great as always, though I had to stop myself from singing along, didnt want to spoil the good impression I had made We waited for the crowds to clear a bit and made our way to the front of the park and the bus stand. Wed had a great time together so we decided to meet up again on Thursday in the MK.

Off to OKW, where I stopped in the store to treat myself to a DVC watch and then on to bed But I was so sleepy I tried to open the room next to mine instead!! Of course then my room wouldnt open with my key, so I had to go back to the front desk to get it sorted. Just what I needed after all that rushing round MGM today . Still, managed to get into my room in the end and just collapsed after a very full & fun day!
