Why oh why, even though went to bed so late still get up at the same time!
But this is ok! Because now I realize, we're not in Toronto anymore! I sit up in bed and do a quick perusal of the room. Nope, I was not dreaming. It's a suite! I quietly get out of bed and check the bathroom. It's huge! Go to the balcony door and slowly open it, YES, WARM AIR! By this time DD has noticed that I'm up and at em'! Of course first thing she does is check for "Cartoon Network"!LOL
Well, since we did not get a chance to pick anything up, I suggest we do the three S's and head over to Shoney's for Breakfast! Without hesitation, she agrees. While she's in the shower, I unpack everything and check out the little kitchen area.
Dishes, glasses, toaster, micro, coffee maker, free coffee, and fridge. Perfect!
Curiosity got the better of me and I checked to see what the going rate was for this suite! My jaw dropped! Note to self: We definately have to thank the GM of this place!
And I thought staying at the Raddison in Boston was expensive!
After a short drive to Shoney's, we arrive and pig out! I have waited a long 3 years to enjoy their fluffy Biscuits and Gravy! I'll spare the gorey details but it's a breakfast that we both enjoy and my pocketbook doesn't hurt. We roll on out of there and take a walk over to the shops next door just so as not to have to sit anymore!
Now it's time for some serious shopping! We head over to the Walmart SuperCentre, well, put it this way, 3 hours later! It's a delicate situation when here in Canada we are so deprived of all the delicious junk food that you Americans seem to get and when decisions must be made as to what is absolutely worthy of our tastebuds! Plus we're only here for 3 more days and since you can't pack food in your suitcases anymore! Well you get the picture. Have to make sure we get the stuff we can't get back home!
By this time DD is tired and she wants to return to the resort. So I relent and we go back! No fun shopping when you have a grumpy kid in tow!
The resort pool area is fab! After a few hours there, we are raring to go again! Dinner was, shall we say, quick!LOL Ok, ok, junk food! We're on vacation! Who says you have to have all the food groups everyday! Isn't popcorn a vegetable? Pork Rinds meat? Cheese puffs dairy?
After this it's off to the Conteporary for Pin Trading! It was wonderful driving thru the gates of WDW! That excitement, even after all these years', still does not fade! Was not prepared to not have to pay for parking, bonus! Got to the gates of the Contemporary, was asked for ID, showed it and was greeted with, "Oh, my first Canadian!" No there is not a problem being from Canada! But that's a different board!
DD and I head on up. She joins the queue for the kids' trading, a walk around looking at all the great pins! We met some wonderful people and it was a great way to spend the evening! DD managed to get some wonderful pins and even traded for the DL Tink Holiday pin! The woman's husband could not believe she parted with it, considering how hard she worked at getting it! But isn't that what it should be about, collecting pins you love! Thanks to DD I now have some wonderful Tinkerbell pins!, well, as she says, I'm only allowed to look! They had a hunt for the kids, and when you found the colors, the kids were given a pin. By this time it's time to pack up and head back to the resort. Even though we were both exhausted, we head over to the Downtown Disney! Can't just drive by without stopping! And of course, it's off to the pin station!
We close the place down and sheepishly head back to the resort! Can't believe we stayed up late once again! We'll rest tomorrow!
To be continued..........
