Good question. Now that I'm thinking about it, Davy Crockett was a major figure with Disney in the 50s and has all but disappeared in the theme parks.
Baby Boomers and their kids (and grandkids!) would thoroughly enjoy a Crockett character in Frontierland!
As previously mentioned, there is reference to him in the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue (I got to play Davy's angel once - tell anyone and you're dead). Other than that, Fess Parker made an appearance at Epcot several years ago, but that was for the Food and Wine Festival and his winery produced the official anniversary wine (good wine, I might add).
Yeah, Fess was there two years ago. His Syrah and Pinot Noir wines are first rate! Fess does a question and answer column for The Crockett Chronicle, a quarterly spinoff of The Alamo Journal.
