DavIfer 10.6.12* at home Disney Magical wedding

I stayed in Castries, but given the size of the island it's easy to see many areas of the island. I would recommend going on tours through your hotel and relaxing on the beach as much as possible! Some places worth visiting are Margot Bay, Pigeon Island and definitely the Pitons! Probably my favorite thing was visiting an area called Soufriere where there is a "drive-in" volcano and it is right by to the Pitons. Also, on certain nights the different towns have street parties or fish fries where there is awesome music and interesting food (I'm not the biggest seafood fan, so some of this was lost on me). I definitely liked the tropical drinks and they have some interesting beers called Pitons and they have some weird flavors like ginger! Ahh I want to go back! Ooo and I took a tour of the Heineken factory! And try to check out the black sand beaches! I didn't actually get to walk on them, but snorkeled by them off a boat. Ooo go snorkeling! I can't wait to hear all about your trip when you get back!!! :goodvibes Hope this helps and let me know if you need any more info - I'll try to remember! It's been a few years!

Wow! Awesome! Thanks so much! Any bit of information helps and I'm thankful for it! :woohoo: I do know our hotel has a tour that takes us to the drive in volcano.. so we may have to go and check that out one day! I DEFINITELY want to go snorkeling sooo badly! I really can't wait! hehe. Once the time gets closer, I may have more questions!! hehe. Thank you once again!

You are so welcome! You and your DF will have a blast! I don't think I ever made it to the Sandals resort (too exclusive :rotfl:), but other resorts in Castries had dances and shows at night and the club scene in Castries was fun! The clubs may be more enjoyable with a group, so make friends with other couples at your resort! I forget the name of the club, but there was one that I went to a lot with a group of girls and we would always get in for free and get free drinks - the guys on the other hand wouldn't be allowed because of what they were wearing or they'd have to pay more, etc! So beware!

By the way girls.. I just wanted to let you know.. I'm taking somewhat of a hiatus on wedding planning...

With the whole ceremony thing up in the air, my bridesmaids are all over the place with work so we can't go try on dresses, and all of that fun stuff... I decided just to take a breather and take time out from the chaos. I do have a year and a half to go! ha.

I will be updating periodically though with whatever little projects I come up with and if I find any good buys, of course! I will be reading everyone else's also and keeping up to date with everybody else's planning. Just kind of taking a break with mine. heh. <3 <3 <3

I will definitely miss readings your updates, but you do have plenty of time so we'll have a year and a half to read more! And glad you'll still be around the boards

Thanks for being so understanding and supportive girlies! :grouphug: I seriously truly LOVE you all. :lovestruc

I've had the weekend from hell.. I haven't been able to sleep since Thursday (I've been staying at DF's house). I probably had about 8 hours of sleep all together. I'm dragging major. Along with that we had major family drama at his house on Saturday at 2am.. making me not able to sleep the rest of the night. Woo! I canNOT wait until we don't have to stay there anymore.:headache:

AND to TOP it all off.. this morning.. as I'm getting changed.. what do I do?? I CHIP my DIAMOND as I'm getting dressed and caught the ceiling fan. Awesome. Great. Grand. Wonderful. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: I feel so lost it's not funny. Let's hope home insurance or the jeweler can help us. Because I do NOT have $1500 for a new stone.:sad::sad::sad::sad::sad::sad:

awww....everything will be ok, just keep your spirits high  I am sure everything will be alright with your ring, sending good vibes your way dear :goodvibes

So sorry to hear about that! my fingers are crossed that they'll be able to do something to help you...

So.. my rings chipped in 2 places. The jeweler has never seen anything like this in the 30 years in the business.. but he's not doing anything for me.

Awesome!

Home owners insurance? Because it wasn't stolen or lost in a fire, not doing anything for me either.

So what I'm supposed to do from here?? I'm not really sure.

My dad wants to go into the store with David and talk to the guy. Because it's definitely bull. I have NO warrantee on my ring what so ever, I have NO certificate for my diamond (he claimed I didn't need one because it's only 1.5kts and he wold charge us extra). I WISH we didn't have our wedding bands yet because then they'd loose more money. They've gotten over $4000 of our money.. but I will not let David ever go back to them.

My dad keeps saying that a good jeweler would replace the stone.. and everything else. So he wants to go talk to him.. which I'm staying home. Because my dad scares me when he gets the way he does.. lol. I mean there is a reason he is the position he is in his company and there is a reason why everyone is afraid of him.

Sucks. I feel like David really got screwed with this guy by how many things that we didn't get with the ring (paperwork wise)..
My mother also offered me my grandmother's diamond.. but it's circular so I'd have to get a new setting. But I guess a new setting is cheaper than a new stone?

ugh. I give up. :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

That stinks :(
I'm so sorry this happened. I'd be super upset.
I used to manage a jewelry store, and unfortunately alot of places are like this. Most places give you the option at the time of the sale to purchase a warranty in case this kind of thing happens.
Your grandmothers diamond would be very sweet. Only bad thing is either option won't be very cheap. I know, I seem all negative and the bearer of bad news :(
Maybe your dad can work some magic... :wizard:

Aww, hun, I am so sorry to hear they aren't helping.

I was shocked when I read that you chipped the diamond, and this is just awful. Sadly, most jewelers do have a similar way of working. I think I would've broken down and had a tantrum, or a panic attack. :scared1:

I'm with KristiLyn, maybe your dad can work a little fatherly magic for you.

This is so sucky! I'm really upset on your behalf. Go dad, hopefully he can make things right!
