David's Waitlist Advice?

Hey Everyone
I put in a rental request for BWV on 5/15/19 for dates mid-February next year for a 2 bedroom lock-off. I was told that they didn't have any owners currently renting out points with BWV as home resort, and we would be placed in a queue. Does anyone have any experience with successfully booking after waiting in their queue for several weeks? I was told that the WL 2 BRs have better availability. Should I just give up on BWV, and book there instead? All experiences and opinions welcome!

Are you looking for the Princess Half Marathon time? Feb 20-23? That could be the issue. If they don't have any BWV owners wanting to rent out their points, you'll have to wait until seven months out. They may have BRV owners with points to rent so they are able to book that instead of BWV. With BWV, all two bedroom villas are lockoffs, so when a studio is booked (and they have already booked all the dedicated studios), the number of two bedroom villas goes down.

That makes sense. We are trying to book 2/10-2/13, so not during the 1/2 marathon. Thanks for your insight

There are 2 bedrooms available then at BWV. Just not standard. Not sure who you're booking through but you might want to try another site to see if their members have points then.

We are trying to book through David's, and are looking for preferred view, so maybe we should check with some other point rental places. This being our first time renting points, though, I wanted to go through vetted brokers with good reputations. I'm not quite ready to rent from an individual yet.

Ah sorry I see Davids right there in the title, duh. Thats who we always use as well. 7 Months out isn't too long away for your dates. Id just wait it out. Looking at availability now you probably be fine. Davids is great about waking up early on 11/7 months dates and getting your request in.

Thanks, Brett That makes me feel a bit better about waiting it out. I've been happy with David's so far, but was just afraid of sitting around on the Waitlist; and, subsequently missing out on all decent 2 BRs. It doesn't help that I have been put in charge of planning for 2 families, so I would hate to disappoint others in our party. This will probably be the last time that I volunteer to plan Disney for everyone. It's just gotten too complicated

Personally I'd also check with another broker. It's approaching the 7 month mark and the thing about BWV 2BR's is that they are all lockoffs. Once the studios all book up there won't be 2BR's available. If that is where you want then I'd check elsewhere or figure that you might be staying somewhere else.

We really tried to pick a week with the least amount of stuff going on. There will probably be international arts @ Epcot, and the weekend after we leave is Valentine's leading into President's day, but we are leaving on Friday, so we should miss most of that.

Hi I rented points through David’s for Nov 2019. The same thing happened to me, but I was interested in a dedicated 2 bedroom at BLT or BCV. There was availability at 11 months at both resorts but no owners with enough points. They were very helpful and advised me to go in the queue for BLT because the line for BCV was already significant (and you can only go in one queue). They felt I had a better shot at BLT. It took about a month but we did end up with a dedicated 2 bedroom at BLT. You can also contact them to see how far you have moved up in the queue and they will advise whether you should wait a few more weeks or try for something else. I was able to link my reservation and so far the process has been very smooth. Hope it works out for you!

@Afabena Thank you so much for sharing your experience! Based on your post above, I reached out and asked if we would be better off switching resorts. They said that we were pretty close on the list, so we're going to hang in and wait a bit longer

Good luck! I know it can be stressful waiting but it’s super exciting when the reservation comes through! Worst case SSR and OKW usually have lots of availability as well. I had looked into them while I was waiting and while I wanted to be able to walk or monorail to some of the parks, they actually have some nice things to offer. I hope you get your first choice.
