Based on previous post, sounds like you are going this week, so probably too late, but in case it helps, here are several ideas to consider:Thank you for the responses. I think I am just going to have to eat the cost of OKW. This trip was for the kids and if they can't hang out together there really is no point of us going. It is a lot of money but so far I just can't come up with another solution. I should have thought the whole situation out better. It is not like me but my husband was going through cancer treatment when I booked and I was side tracked by what was going on at home. Please make sure when you rent from David's Vacation Club that you do not need to cancel for any reason. Unfortunately our friends are not DVC members and are looking very forward to staying at the Beach Club so I guess this is just a very expensive lesson learned. Thanks for listening![]()
- Max occupancy at BCV is 5 for 1bdrm, 9 for 2bdrm, so for example, if your friend only has 5 people staying in a 2bdrm, they could add 4 more people to their reservation, getting you room keys, thus access to the pool.
- Conversely, you could add them to your reservation since you're going to have a hard time getting ressies at BCV/BCR, so at least that way your kids can swim together. BCV pools are more attractive to kids because of the sunken pirate ship, but in reality the pools/water slides at OKW are just as nice.
- Another thing to check is if BCV or BCR have some single nights available the week you are staying -- they won't have the full week available last minute spring break week, but they may have 1 night here and there. Keep in mind booking 1 night gives you pool access 2 days (the day of check-in and the day of checkout), so you could get 4 days at the pool for a 2 1-night stays, and since you don't care what room type it is, you could book a hotel room, studio, etc and just use it for changing while at the pool or crashing at night and keep your original reservation for the rest of the week. Similar to the previous recommendation, the other option is book some spare OKW nights for your friends to come visit you.
- Another good option is water parks as people have mentioned -- keep in mind a "Water Park Annual Pass" is only $104 (adult)/$85 (child) so pretty cost effective if you are going multiple days, and it renews at $89/$73 so if you go every year, it gets cheaper over time. Even buying everyone in both parties annual passes will likely be cheaper than rebooking your DVC ressie.
