I’m not sure if this is the right board to ask this but if you request a dedicated reservation on David’s rental site, how long did it take to hear back whether you got it or not? We put the deposit in for one late yesterday and haven’t heard anything yet. I’m sure I just need to be more patient but hoping I’ll hear something today.
 
As soon as they find an owner with the points available for when you need them, they will contact them, wait for an answer back, and then contact you. It depends which resort you're trying to get if they will find an owner quickly or not. When I have rented out points it was usually within the week that I would hear back from David's.

it’s a dedicated reservation that we put the request/deposit on. So, I’m assuming they know who the owner is. I thought I’d hear back rather quickly cause DVC rental store has always been quick at responding to my requests. David’s seems to be slower but it is a weekend. I’ve kind of resigned myself to thinking I won’t know till at least Monday. Just hoping I know soon cause the dedicated reservation moves are vacation back one day and I need to change a lot around if we get it

I actually accidentally got sent a copy of the "we haven't heard from you but we have a renter interested in your reservation" email on the 3rd day, and then it went very quickly after that.

It was my first time renting points and I wasn't sure what to expect, but it all worked out ok. Just another thing to "put up with" for the benefit of the price break of point rental vs. going direct.

Fingers crossed that you'll hear tomorrow (Monday).

that’s crazy the difference in wait times between David’s and DVC rental store. With DVC rental store I knew within hours whether I was able to get the hotel I wanted, what my options were if not, or if a dedicated reservation was still available. I really appreciate their quick responses cause I tend to rent DVC closer to my trip so I’m anxious to start changing things around if I get what I requested. Hopefully, things with David’s will go smoothly but the wait is making me favor DVC rental store over David’s currently. I guess I’m just an impatient person.
 
On a dedicated reservation from David’s right now at the boardwalk. Heard back same day. It just depends on how long it takes them to reach the point owner and get them to change the names on the reservation.
 
Well we didn’t hear back today. Hopefully, we will know something tomorrow. I guess I’ll keep my fingers crossed for another day cause I really want this reservation. I feel like I have a good chance of getting it cause it wasn’t discounted and a Wednesday through Monday reservation, which I feel like is not the usual travel dates for most. So fingers crossed on my bday, I’ll be sitting on my room balcony staring at the castle!

Two days max. They’re looking for owners to rent the points. They typically come back with alternatives too. Excellent customer service imho.
 
I rented a confirmed res from DVC rental store recently and it took about 12 hours for my confirmation. I know part of the waiting time was bc the DVC owner had to switch the res to my name.

Could the member modify the reservation online themselves? I'm asking because I have a couple of dedicated reservations for rent.

No. Lead names can only be changed through MS.

There's a chat function that you might be able to use - if it's up and working. It has mostly been down as of late. And you could email MS. Response time for emails is taking around two weeks.

Thanks. I haven't found the wait times to be terribly long lately. 40 minutes or so. And these days, I don't have much else going on.🙁
 
I put my request in on the 18th. Heard back on the 19th with alternates as my request wasn't available. Responded immediately. Received confirmation on the 20th. Their emails always say they aim for a 24 hour turnaround time. But I'm sure it always depends on the owner doing their part.

Sounds like you booked a new reservation as opposed to a dedicated reservation? There's a difference in how the brokers handle the two and it affects turnaround time.

For a new reservation, an owner has already been in contact with the broker to offer their points for a rental. There is no existing reservation associated with the points. The owner can make the reservation for the renter using the online members portal. There is no need to switch any names or contact Member Services for anything. As a result, turnaround time can be very quick.

OTOH, dedicated reservations have a name already associated with the reservation. They are existing reservations that either the owner or a renter has decided they cannot use. As a result, Member Services has to be contacted by the owner, not the broker, in order to effect the change. That can take more time to handle because owners have lives outside of DVC and they don't always have a spare hour or so during operating hours to call Member Services. It eventually gets handled but not with the quick turnaround time that you can see with a new reservation.
 
I heard back from them right around lunch time today and we got the dedicated reservation that I wanted!! Whoo hoo. I updated the online check in so all the info was mine and not the prior guests. However, I haven’t been able to get the reservation address to change from the other persons to mine. Every time I change it and save it, it looks saved but when I go back into online check in, it reverts back to the other persons address. Idk how to fix this issue or if it even matters.

I would notify the broker, who needs to notify the owner, who maybe able to fix it online by modifying the reservation details on their DVC Member account. If the owner can’t fix it themselves online, they’ll have to call/email/chat with MS.

It’s showing up in the online check in portion. So, David’s is saying it’s not an issue on their end. They gave me a technical support number for disney to call. Once I find time, I’m going to try giving them a call and see what they say. I don’t really care that the address is wrong as long as it doesn’t cause us any issues but I’m not sure if it will or not. I got the credit card changed to mine with my address and the email/phone number contact switched to mine and me and my daughter show up as the lead guest/guest on the reservation. So everything else seems fine but the reservation address. My guess is the person who had the reservation did online check in before realizing they couldn’t go cause I “updated” online check in when I went to go do it.
