Dave Ramseying to Disney! Some final thoughts 8/18

To Agent or Not? To TGM or not?

  • Go it alone. It is worth all of the effort to plan it the way I want it.

  • Get the help. The right travel agent is worth his/her weight in pirate gold.

  • Plan it myself but get Tour Guide Mike to help with the itinerary.

  • Get the works. Use an agent AND buy Tour Guide Mike.

I thought I was having gall bladder pain but when I went to the hospital...I had kidney stones. BLECH. They were awful so I can't imagine the gall bladder. It's a common occurance for weight loss surgery patients to need their gall bladder out after surgery and they don't really know why. :confused3

It's nice that your parents will be joining you but you still have time just for your family. Very nice balance! :thumbsup2

Oh and I bought a Dave Ramsey book last week when they were on sale, I'm going to start reading it this weekend. :thumbsup2

That is great news! Well, aside from having to re-think everything....but even that is kinda fun in a way. ;)

I hope they LOVE it!!! I laughed out loud at your Play & Dine comment about your Dad. :rotfl:

I know that your parents will have fun just watching the kids experience it all. That is part of what MeMom loves.

That book will change your life. And as Dave will say, It will Change Your Family Tree. I had kidney stones and that was by far the worst pain in the whole world. Waaay worse than my gall bladder pain and waaay worse than natural childbirth.

Yeah, I gotta take it easy on him. He comes here to visit and puts his laptop, ipod and blackberry next to him, puts on golf and sets up in the middle of the living room and we all have to adjust to that. My memories of him are him telling me to stand on my tippies to get to ride Space Mountain before I could and telling me that the pirates were really alive in POTC. So we'll see if the old man that my dad has comfortably become goes away and his old self comes out. He is only 57 so it isn't like he is an old man by any means.

I know that your parents will have fun just watching the kids experience it all. That is part of what MeMom loves.
Yes, they will. I know when my mom sees the castle adn sees the kids she will just melt. I think it will be the perfect bit of nostalgia from my childhood trips and a wonderful new experince with their grands.
Dave Ramsey fan here jumpin in late.
:welcome: Dave fans are never late here! Are you an FPU person?

I did go to FPU about three years ago. Ready to go again.

I just had my gall bladder out, much better now.

Loving your pretrippie, can't wait for more.

I'm here!! I'm super late but I'm here!! I have enjoyed catching up and look forward to hearing more about your trip!!

Glad you feel better. I occasionally have "phantom" gall bladder pain that I think may be scar tissue. It hurts like the dickens for a few seconds and then goes right away. It only happens like once a month or so.

I'm here!! I'm super late but I'm here!! I have enjoyed catching up and look forward to hearing more about your trip!!
Yeah!!! Thank you so much for joining in. I have been having one of those weeks where it feels like I will never have another "Real" update. I'm headed over to yours now. :surfweb:

Can I tell you how much it comforts me to hear that? :rotfl2: You are about the 5th person to tell me that kidney stones were worse than childbirth. That makes me feel like I can handle it. :lmao:

When I had kidney stones I was pregnant so my super cool doc let me stay on labor and delivery floor and get pain meds for 24 hours. Now, I am a big advocate of natural childbirth. I have done it twice and I think drugs during birth can possibly leave to problems and are best if avoided if possible. Well, when I had kidney stones I wanted all of the drugs in the hospital and I was pregnant. Of course there were only a couple of things they could give me but as long as I knew they were safe and allowed during pregnancy then I wanted the maximum amount. And I wanted no one near me. I have given birth with my husband, mom, sister, nursing professor, daughter all in the room (different births and different combos of people). With kidney stones I would not let my DH anywhere near me. I wanted dark and quiet.
So yes, if you can survive kidney stones then childbirth will be nothing!:woohoo:

You just made my day. The older I get, the more scared I get about it. :lmao:

When I had my kidney stone, I was pacing the room and then when the pain got really bad I would lean over the bed to try to make it go away. :lmao: My husband was just staring at me, and then I finally asked him why he was staring at me, with a terrified look he said, "Are you sure you are not pregnant?" :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl: Ummm...no.

Has everyone checked out the awesome Beauty and the Beast scenario this week?

Take your Toys R Us flyer from the paper and go buy Beauty and the Beast Blu Ray/DVD combo pack at Walmart and have them give you the price from Toys R Us. I think it is 22.95. Walmart will give you tickets to see Tangled when it comes out in November. Make sure you print out the 10 off coupon from Disney movie rewards so you will only have to pay 12.95. And if you are really hardcore...
go buy 3 campbells kids soups (get a dollar off 3 from campbells.com) and submit it for a rebate for $5.
There is another rebate if you buy western bagels but I cannot find those at my walmart.
So, for about $8 you get three cans of soup, a bluray/dvd combo and tix to see Tangled.

For more info on this deal check out this site.

WOW that is an amazing deal!!! Thank you for sharing it with us!!!

Yes, it is great! I am printing out my tangled voucher right now. I think i used an entire cartridge of ink on that one page. If you haven't printed yet, change it to BW and low print quality!

So it has been a busy few weeks around here. Most importantly, my baby Colin is now 1. I can't believe an entire year has gone by. Wow!

Abby got to walk in the Street Festival with her Indian Princess tribe and her daddy Brave. We love Indian Princesses!

And her artwork was featured in the Art Gallery. This is Nemo and his Dad in the Sydney harbor with sailboats over them.

We also had a fun day at the Nashville Zoo. It was a little prep trip to see how the kids would do at WDW. They did great!
Brady's favorites were the Come-here-Cats.

My favorite were the flamingos.

What a great zoo day.

Next up, Abby and I are going to SC for a 4 day weekend to visit with my mom and dad, sister, brother-in-law, brother and his fiance. My mom, sister and I are throwing a shower for my future SIL at my mom's house. My grandmother is flying in from NJ as well. Tom will be here with the boys. God help us all. This trip has been in the works forever but I am getting cold feet leaving my baby. We have been weaning for the last couple of weeks. I am bringing my pump and will do that but I may be done nursing when I get back. That is sad as this is our last baby. But I guess it has to end sometime. I hope I can make it all weekend without having a breakdown. I have never left him for more than 4 hours and even Brady and I have only been apart when I was in the hospital having Colin. And he came to visit each day.
Abby and I will be stopping in Atlanta tomorrow to have lunch at the American Girl Store and Cafe with her dolls. We may get her dolls hair done. We are also going to the Disney Store.
When I get back it will be my 8th anniversary with my amazing DH and then the next day my mom and grandmother are coming here for a few days. Agh!

You are going to be busy, busy!! I'm sure everything will work out fine with you going away. :goodvibes

I have never heard of Indian Princesses! Is it like Girl Scouts??

I love all the pictures of you and the family having fun! Very sweet.

Thank you! I know they are in good hands with Tom. It is more me just missing them. But me and Abby need some girl time away from the boys. Tom keeps quoting Enchanted "Grown-up girl bonding time" We both think that line is creepy.

Indian Princesses is loosely related to the YMCA. It is a parent/child scouting group. IP is specifically for Dads and daughters. They get to canoe, camp, do crafts and be totally silly. The dads are all friends so it was a good group to join. I call it Slacker Girl Scouts.

Sounds like you had fun at the zoo, and lots of busy days ahead!
I hate leaving my kids for anything too.
