I have only read the Child Called It. Very disturbing yet very uplifting in a strange sort of way. That poor kid, at least what he went thru has helped others in the long run.

yea, I read a couple of his books when I was in 7th and 8th grade. I have also read They Cage the Animals At Night, i dont remember who wrote it, but it is also about child abuse. Children are pretty much my weakness and I think child abuse and child slavery are the worst things in the world. That is why I want to be come a lawyer, most likely a children's lawyer.

My mom has read all of them and I want to read them all too. I have read the first one, A child called it. It is one of the saddest storys I have ever read. It is so horrible that someone would do that to her own child. I cryed when I read it.

Oh I read that book also. WOW It was really sad, especially b/c nothing about his life was stable, ever! He kept going into the shelters, then getting pulled back out of them, and so on and so forth. Yes when my parents decided to do foster care I went to the library and got all these books on child abuse. That's where I discovered these books by Dave Pelzer. Also other books about this child who was abused at his daycare and his parents didn't find out for a while. I can't even imagine what hell these kids lifes must have been.

Yup. That's so terrible. Have you read his brother;'s book, and how he turned to the object of abuse after Dave left? I was reading it the other night. I was thinking "if yu had a story like thios to tell, you wouldn't even have to have any writing talent at all."

Also, there must have been something reall screwed up in social services ro whoever is in charge for all of the children not to be taken away and for the mom not to go to jail. It even said he had a choice to stay with her, if he wanted. I just don't get it

I don't remember reading that he had a choice. I think it said that they wanted his opinion, like where he would want to live.

No I didn't even know his brother made a book. Which brother?
