We are frequent visitors to DW and this is our first trip to DL. With that said our daughter turns 13 on July 4th and I don't know what to do for her there that would be special. Right now we are looking at staying at the Park Vue Inn and spending 6 days at the park. On the hotels website they said they would do something special for your celebration, has anyone taken advantage of this yet? Where is a good place to take her for a meal, she likes Stitch and Pluto? Can we order a cake for her through one of the resturaunts at DL? Thank you for any and all help.

blue buyou for lunch first seating to get by the waterside tell them its her
b day they will bring a choc pudding with whipped cream on top.

I would also do a character meal they can be lots of fun

You can order cakes, but they can only be delivered to the resort restuarants, not restaurants inside the parks. For instance, I ordered an Anniversary cake and had it delivered to The Storyteller's Cafe within the Grand Californian. It was very good! They have many flavors and sizes to choose from.

Here is an entire thread dedicated to ordered cakes from Disney Vacations.

Maybe she would like to go to Studio 365 in DTD. Get her hair done and have a photo shoot.

Both Pluto & Stitch regularly show up at Mickey's surfs up breakfast at the PPH and the characters are very interactive at this breakfast. Don't forget to stop at City Hall and get her birthday button. On our recent visit our son got a free box of popcorn, a bag of tortillas and lots & lots of attention from all the CMs.

I like the idea of ordering her a cake and having it delivered to Goofy's Kitchen. We are all really excited for this trip. Any and all advice is more than welcome. I have been reading the Unofficial Guide book and Birbaums and this site since 4am. Thank you again for all of your replies.

Make sure you get her a birthday button, you can get them at City Hall at most restaurants and some stores also have them.
Our youngest wanted BB when she turned 10 so we did that, she loved it. :) She will hear tons of Happy Birthday wishes from CM's and other park guests, that's always fun. For MY bday I took my girls and the 3 of us did BBB, maybe your DD would like Disney 365 (as suggested by pp), there is also a BaB in DTD.

Have you already bought your tickets? 6 days is quite a bit for DL. Its waaaay smaller than DW. You can do everything plus some easily in 3 days (and thats with little kids). You might think about taking a day off in the middle and going to San Diego or to the beach, or sight seeing in LA.

We are actually going to be there for 9 days total, but we are going to rent a car for part of the trip and go to Knott's Berry Farm and to the Labrea Tar Pits. I am looking around to see what else we might want to do.
I do want to do a couple of the character meals. Which ones should I do? Are they all in the resorts or are there some in the parks? The youngest one really loves princesses, and believes she is one. Which character meal is best to meet them. Also is there a Rapunzel and Flynn meet and greet there?
Thanks so much for all the advice I need all the help I can get.

There is a Minnie and Friends Breakfast Character Meal inside of DLR at the Plaza Inn. The Princess Character Meal is in CA at Ariel's Grotto. I have boys, so I haven't been to Ariel's Grotto in years.

The Minnie's Breakfast was great because we saw so many characters. We did it on a Early Entry day, so we did a bunch of the rides first and then as the park started to fill up, we had reservations to eat. The food is not the best, I prefer Storyteller's Cafe in the CGH, but the characters were great! The boys loved it when they were little.

Hope that helps...

Character meal depends on what characters you really want to see.

If she loves Stitch and Pluto I would recommend Mickey's Surf's Up at Paradise Pier Hotel. It was very cute and fun. We also saw Mickey and Minnie.

Goofy's Kitchen will usually have two princesses in addition to Goofy and a few others. When I went Jasmine and Aurora were there. Also saw Goofy, Pluto, Balloo and Chip.

Ariel's Grotto is in DCA- you will meet Ariel for sure and many other princesses. If princesses are your main goal this is the place for you. We had Belle, Aurora, Snow, and Cinderella.

Minnie's is in Disneyland and it has blah food in my opinion but great characters. I have had Chip and Dale, Alice, Fairy Godmother, Rafiki, Max, Eeyore, Pooh...

Right now there is a special Tangled Meet and Greet with Rapunzel in Fantasyland, Not sure how long that will be going on, but probably for a while.

Thanks so much for the help. My oldest likes some princesses and some of the other characters. My middle one dosen't really care for princesses, but will do it for her little sister. My youngest one is all about the princesses. What I am hoping to do is set up a meal for my middle one on her birthday, 4th of July, with one that will hopefully have Stitch and Pluto and then plan a princess meal for one of the other days. That way I can please all three of them. How early can you book a meal reservation? Also when does DL normally release the hours for summer?

Reservations can be made 60 days in advance by calling 714-781–DINE (3463). 4th of July week would normally be 8am to midnight. They don't release full schedules until 6 weeks ahead, which is very annoying. You should be able to get an idea of what the show schedule is by looking at when they run the parades and shows in spring, early summer.

You can try to arrange a ride on the Lilly belle. It is the caboose that Walt's wife personally designed and the CM will give you some cool Disney info during the ride.

You could the Fantasmic dessert seating. It would be a special occasion so why not give her a special seat to the show. I don't know if they do it for WoC but you could try that as well.

Disney also offers tours of the park before it opens and during park hours. One of them is a segway tour of DCA. Not sure if that would be her thing but she might get a kick out of riding a segway.

Hope this helps!!

We were at the Park Vue in December. Another family we were with had a daughter who was celebrating her 10th birthday. I believe they put balloons in the room, had a small present and I think 4 mini cakes or cupcakes from the Cold Stone in front.

What did you think of the Park Vue? Did you like it? Thanks

We really like it, and stay there every time we go (about once a year). Location can not be beat and the free breakfast is a great perk. The rooms are not fancy, but clean. On our last trip we only did the 5pm-7pm social hour once, and it was OK. The breakfast food is better as there is a bigger selection.
