Daughter is going to College Intern Program

My daughter is not taking any classes because her University would not let the credits transfer.(she actually is taking 2 classes from one of her teachers, over the internet from college at home) but anyway, will she still graduate or is it only if you take Disney classes? Marla

My daughter took the classes since it is Disney and wanted to learn from them. She was glad she did.

My daughter wasn't able to get credit for the Disney course, but we felt that if she was going to be there she should take advatage of the courses offered. She enjoyed her course and felt she learned alot.

DD Ashleigh is all checked in her apartment & has a 2 bedroom. Her roommate is Stacey from St. Louis, MO in case her mom or dad is listening!

They are all excited & say the apartment is absolutely beautiful!

I'm glad to hear your daughter is all checked in and excited about everything. My daughter is just finishing up her semester on the WDWCP and moves out tomorrow. While she is excited about coming home, she is definitely feeling sad about leaving the WDWCP. I have talked to her a few times today and she is definitely feeling the pull of the magic and wanting to stay longer.

Good luck to your daughter. Keep us posted with updates on her.

jk1, your daughter will still feel the mouse when she gets home. My daughter graduated from the CP last Thursday. Everything here at home is compared to how Disney does it. She plays the Disney music. I know she is missing the program. Good luck to your daughter.

Sorry to post this twice, but I see that my Disney daughter had signed in and forgot to log out.

Thanks, safetymom. My daughter was raised on the mouse so I know she will be ok. It helps that we are heading down to see Mickey in a couple of weeks too!

I have to go to WDW on business for a week next weekend. My daughter is upset that she won't be going.

I told that she will see how it feels when I call her from a park letting her hear the parade I would have loved to be at. :)

Enjoy your trip. I know that once we move to Florida, hopefully in the next 6 months that my daughter will once again be working at Disney.

When your daughter goes down is she going to try and work then? My daughter wants to schedule a trip so she can keep her status active.

Safetymom, my daughter was told she would have to work a week's schedule if she wanted to work. This is under the casual seasonal classification. They told her they were no longer doing the casual temp where she would have been able to work a couple days during her vacation. Because she is just getting home, she is looking forward to this vacation (we have quite a few kids going as a h.s. graduation trip) so she decided not to work. Not to say she won't go back and work a week later though. Just not this upcoming trip.

My timetable for moving to Orlando is a bit farther off than yours. But eventually I do hope to move there. :)

I am sure you will all have a great trip. I enjoyed visiting the parks with my daughter to see it through her eyes. I would have thought she might have grown tired of the parks. But to watch her the night of the fireworks and Spectro it was like she was seeing it for the first time. She was getting tears in her eyes when we watched the parades last week.

I'm a former CP and I would be happy to answer any questions you might have. The discounts do begin as soon as participant gets their ID's.

If I send a laptop with my daughter, will she be able to use it? If there is only one telephone line, I don't think roommates would appreciate it being tied up. How difficult is it to use a computer while in the program? Is it a waste to send it with her? Leaving in one week! I can't believe it. Marla:Pinkbounc

I would still send the laptop. Is she taking any classes? I am sure they won't all be in the apt. trying to use the phone at the same time.

My daughter used her laptop to work on her papers instead of going to the lab.

I plan on sending my DD a laptop also. She will just use it to check her email & then get offline & if it's at a time when her roomies aren't there it won't be to bad.

She passed her lifeguard test with flying colors & is a lifeguard at Blizzard Beach! She's in Heaven! Not a whole lot of time in Montana to swim!

So far she loves it there! Everything has worked out to the best thankfully. I can't wait until November!!!

Before you know it November will be here. I felt like I got to enjoy Disney even though I wasn't there with all the phone calls and emails from my daughter.

mirmatt, I would send the laptop. Many times, all the roommates' schedules are different. Your daughter might have plenty of time that she can use the phone line to get online. And she will have the laptop for papers or anything else she needs to do for any classes she is taking.

While my daughter hardly used her laptop (she had connectivity issues), her one roommate did spend a lot of time using her computer online for her classes.

Safetymom, I had the same experience with my daughter calling me all the time sharing her college program adventures! It was great!

MontanaCowgirl, I'm glad your daughter is happy with her assignment. Good luck to her!
