Where do I begin? I am just confusing myself jumping into the middle of some of these posts. Where do I find the different types of weddings? The requirements and costs for these? Help me! Please.

the best thing would be to go to the www.disneyweddings.com and check out all the information there, i personally don't think the wish book is great, but it is a good place to start. another website that helped me A LOT is www.mouseweddings.com, they have a TON of info on there about the disney fairy tale wedding program!

Yep I agree the Disney wish book isn't perfect but it can give you a basic idea of how much money is involved and what the options are....

My DD is having her DFTW on 1/4/2008....at first we had thought she would get married in her home town, but after she really couldn't find anything that she really wanted, I asked her about her earlier wish to get married at WDW....once we started investigating, the amount of money that we planned to spend turned out about the same....the only difference being the number of guests (fewer)....

DH and I are excited about our daughter's wedding and know that every penny will be worth it....we are Disney lover's through and through and this is a once in a lifetime experience!.

I would say you could spend anywhere from 7000.00 to the sky's the limit....(Katie's is running approximately 23,000....)

Good luck to you guys - the planning process is exciting:banana:

i had the exact same situation, though it's going to be CHEAPER for me to get married at disney than it would be to be married at home, can you beleive it! i really recommend mouseweddings.com, they have all sorts of tips on how to keep the budget down, and they give you discounts on favors too!!!

TLSnell1981, my fellow Dis'ers have given wonderful advice. The only things that I can add are the following:

(1) Surf this website and read as much as you can about what other FTW couples are doing. You'll learn some amazing stuff. As to pricing info, that is a very personal topic and most don't feel comfortable discussing it in public. I know that I have never given much pricing info for any of the events that I have held in WDW, including my custom vow renewal three years ago. But I have shared the pricing for my mini-wedding cakes, the chartered motor coach, and the beverage bills for at least three of my events. If you search on me, you should be able to find that info (for example, I re-posted the beverage bill earlier this week).

(2) Contact the FTW folks directly and ask them your questions over the telephone. They love to help (and they're dang good at it, too). They should be able to give you generic pricing for a lot of the items (characters, musicians, transportation, venues, photography, videography, flowers, etc.).

Congratulations on your daughter's engagement. If she chooses to go with a FTW event, I hope it is as wonderful as she dreams it will be.

Welcome to another MOB! There is another site that has tons of details and pictures of the the different sites and menu options too for a DFTW its magicalkingdoms.com. Enjoy your planning, my DD and I are having a blast together... We are going for a site visit next month:cool1:
