My daughter's high school marching band will be at Disney for 4 days. We are going but checking her out from her band on the last day and staying longer. We have a resort package with dining plan. How do I add her to our package for the second half of our trip? Or can she just be added to our room and not have to add her to the package? Also if we have extra dining credits can we use them for her to eat without adding her to the package? Tickets aren't an issue because we are using military tickets. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Since it doesn't appear she will push you over the room limit you just add her when her band trip is over. She won't be able ot get the dinning plan but you can either Pay out of pocket for her meals or use left over credits for her.

We are doing the same thing with a school trip. Answer is, all guests on the package must have the same dining plan. You will have to add her for the full length of the plan before you arrive, or not at all. I THINK you could add her just to the room after you arrive so that her band works the room door. We just added DD to the full reservation and are using her credits for the first half toward signature meals.

This was what I was hoping for. We purchased the deluxe dining plan. We like to eat large breakfast and large dinners but snack for lunch. Doing it this way we will have enough credits for her to eat without having to purchase a plan for her for the entire stay. Thanks for the response.

No problem. She'll most likely receive a grey magic band that is not personalized but looks like your kids are teenagers so she should fair well. Also as long as her ticket is linked to her in MDE and she is on the friends/family list you can make her FP+ reservations with the rest of the family with no issue.

You'll just have to add her to Magical express before your check out day if you are using it.

**Update** I just talked to Disney and they said everyone has to have the same package details if they are added to the room.

I was just wondering the same thing. My mother initially wasn't coming, but now she wants to be added. She physically can't last in the parks and she doesn't need the meal plan. She was just going to come along for the trip. We have a Cars suite booked and its only 4 of us so we won't be at the room limit, but I was worried about her having a room key and being able to use transportation.

Everyone has to have the same package details if they are added BEFORE you arrive. If you add her at check-in, she will simply be added to the room at no extra charge as you are staying in a family suite. She will not have the dining plan and you can buy her a separate ticket of any length depending on her needs. The only downside is, she will not be able to accesss Magical Express until she is on the reservation, so she may need to take a cab or private car from the airport (if you are flying).

Once you check in you have fulfilled the "everyone must have the same" package requirements, anytime after this you can add a guest as room only. We have done it 3 times now without issues, most recently in November we added my older dd the day after we checked in and her mb's from prior trips worked on the room. Since the OP's dd is already in Disney DME won't be an issue for them - but you can add a guest on the spot and they would be able to use DME in both directions.

If she is arriving when you arrive, she'll will probably need to be on the reservation, especially if she is flying in. She can't use Magical Express without a reservation.

Agree - I missed this in the subsequent posts you could all hire a town car, check in and then add Mom - or Mom can do a walk up reservation with Mears. Any time we have done this the person has arrived a day or two after we do so there is time to make a DME reservation.

Recently did this and they offered us any color we wanted, in the old style. Guessing they are trying to use up all the old ones via the front desks. (opted for purple)
