Has anyone had it officially confirmed that Pooh really will be down for rehab in May or June?
If you called Disney, would they know more than what is listed on the website for rehab during that time?
Thanks!

The Pooh ride in the MK is going down for a two-month rehab. Its last day of operation will be April 24th. How do I know? My daughter works the attraction! :)

We are going in May. My DS is going to be soooo disappointed. Pooh in rehab is going to be very difficult to explain to a 21/2 year old.

Oh Bother! We are arriving the 26th of April and are just going to miss it! My 4 year old DD really was looking forward to this also. We haven't been to the World in over 5 years so have never seen it. Hope dinner at the CP with Pooh & Friends makes up for it. :(

Oh Well, it's not like we were doing anything anyways (Eeyore)....no Honey pots for us in May - bummer

:earseek:

For sure now will have to go to CP

Thanks
Jason

Bummer. Won't be able to enjoy it this trip.:(

Thanks so much jk!! I appreciate your info...much better than a rumor from a magazine. I am sad, but at least I can let my girls know early and it's one less ride we "have to" get done on that early morning blitz!! Now, please check with your daughter and make sure we have no more surprises!!!!! Thanks!

Since it is almost the newest ride in the MK, why does it already need a rehab? Or does it still use all the old Mr. Toad machinery?

I think only the Magic Carpets is newer in MK. Am I correct?

If this is scheduled why would Disney keep it a "secret"???? I just called WDW to confirm for sure and the girl I talked to was very nice. She put me on hold for over 15 minutes while she called over to MK and spoke with several people to see if anyone could verify this. She said that she was told there is no rehab planned for Pooh according to Guest Relations at MK.

I believe you that if you know from a CM (your DD) that works on Pooh that this is happening--I just don't understand why Disney isn't letting the public know. The 24th is in 10 days--they should put it on the rehab schedule so that we can make alternate plans (like the CP meal), and prepare our little ones.

I have 3 yr old that has talked non stop about seeing Pooh, Tigger and Piglet at "Dineyword" and she and I both were really looking forward to this ride. Also it is one of the few that I am confident she would understand and enjoy. (I was planning to ride several times with her):(

I am really BUMMED about this! First they cancel Spectro for the 27th and ALL the MK fireworks for the week and now this. I know we will have fun, but that is a lot of "big stuff" for us to have to miss.

Bimmy, the rehab has to do with improving CM operation of the ride and safety improvements.

Oh No!!! :( :( :( Pooh is always our first ride on our first day! Whatever will we do?????????

Oh man my son was really counting on trying to get another ride with tigger on this ride oh well we have memories!

I, too, would have liked to go on the ride, as it was to open a fewweeks after I was there in 98. If it is just for CM training, perhaps the down time will not be that long?

It's not for CM training. It is for improvements for the operation of the ride itself.

A CM on another board said that most rides in WDW have one person running the "pad" or board that has the operating buttons on it and that person can and should be able to SEE the riders to visually verify the ride is ready to board and go. On the Pooh ride, the operator cannot see it for themselves. They have to rely on the CM telling them that it is all clear which gives them a greater chance for error. I may not have understood everything exactly right, but I think that is right. So...the rehab is reworking the loading and unloading so that the operator can visually clear the ride for take-off.
Could take the whole time, I'm betting.
Oh bother! But..We had fun on our last trip and we didn't get to ride it then, either.

If you have gotten your info from a CM who actually works the Pooh ride, then I am sure you have correct info. If not, whatever you want to presume is fine with me.

How come I can't find Pooh on the refurishment list on other sites?

For anyone who wants to believe, the actual rehab dates for the Pooh Ride are Friday, April 25th through June 27th, 2003. The scheduled reopening date is Saturday, June 28th, 2003.

How very very sad. Our DD will be 22 months when we take her in just a few weeks and this was one ride we were pretty sure she'd like. :( Thanks for the heads up though :)
