Dates for Guardians of the Galaxy Tower ride?

Hi! We're planning a trip way out west (we're on the East Coast) so we can ride the GotG ride at Disneyland. Has anyone heard about an opening date?

May would be great for our plans, but I'm wondering if it might be smarter to plan on Sept. or Oct. Speaking of Oct, when do the Halloween Party tickets go on sale?

Here is the Disney Parks Blog about it opening Summer 2017. So it would be open if you decided to go in the Fall of 2017

Be careful. Delays can and do happen often. Look at Big Thunder Mountain a few years back. Planning your trip for something that doesn't yet have a hard date can potentially end up being a disappointing endeavor.

Historically, they've announced the dates for Mickey's Halloween Party and started selling tickets in mid-summer (for the last few years, it's been in July, but there is no guarantee that they'll keep to the same schedule in 2017). Keep an eye on the Parks Blog and here on the Disboards for information as it comes available.

When they give a timeline such as "Summer 2017" I assume their plan is have it ready at the very beginning of Summer, so that if they get delayed by a month or two they can open it at the end of Summer and they'll still be "on time". I have no inside knowledge, that just seems like a sensible way to keep from disappointing people. May might count as early Summer, so if there are no problems it's entirely possible it will be open, but it sounds like the ride is a big part of your plans so I would go with a Fall trip to be safe. Or, to the extent that everything is fully refundable, you could plan for both and when the date is announced, cancel the reservations for one of the trips. That's usually pretty easy to do with hotels but flights might be trickier.

My opinion, for what it is worth, is they will time it to open with the movie GOTG2.
