Dates for 2009 Horror Nights

In our family, it is my husband who can't stand the scares. He went one year only and has no desire to go back. DS goes with me but this may be the last year for awhile since he will be off to college by 2010. I might have to scare DH to join me or hope for a DIS meet. While I can handle being scared, it doesn't mean that I don't scream or need to hold someone's hand as I walk thorugh the houses and scare zones!!!

lol! I went to a haunted house with him one time. It was really dark so we were supposed to hold hands with the person in front of and us and the person behind us (I think maybe you do this in every haunted house? I'm not sure) Anyway, I was so focused on looking for people that were going to jump out and scare me that if there was ever a step down I totally tripped. Finally, the guy in front of me just started warning me every time there was a tiny step. :rotfl: really embarrassing!

I've had total strangers cling to me throughout HHN haunted houses. Even tho' I am a screamer and a jumper, I must look fairly confident...or else they're so scared themselves that they'll cling to anyone 'cause there's safety in numbers!

i am here to state that Barb is indeed a screamer and a jumper and she grabs the person that is closest to her.

if you are not careful, and if your ear is near her face, ...........well, it is something you do not forget.

you learn quickly and are not next to Barb in the congo line going thru the houses.......

and i have seen her run......

she thoroughly enjoys the houses.

i know.
i was in front of her, behind her and then finally about 3 people behind her in houses one night last year.....:teeth:

I understand the DH issue. Mine does not want to go to HHN. I know I'm a big girl, and I have my good friend and his wife going, but I also like to scream, hold hands and generally be clingy at these. It is more fun that way. DH says he is not scared, he just doesn't want people bugging him, coming up to him, and especially touching him. In fact, this is his outlook on life in general. Troy is like my brother, we grew up together. We both loved monsters growing up, so I don't want to be clinging to him. Too embarrasing. He thinks I'm cool. Besides his DW might get upset. LOL. I probably would cling to her, too.

I hope I can get him to go. I just think it will be more fun if he is there.

I have a ticket question as well. I want to purchase the 7 day 2 park pass online. I would also like to do the stay and scream. I heard you have to purchase those at the park, but I can't purchase the 7 day ticket there. Will I be SOL? Or can I "upgrade" the stay and scream feature on the day of HHN.

I am so excited about this, DH or not.

when the HHN tix go on sale this summer, you can call them instead of order on line and buy the stay and scream.

the only way to buy the s & s is if you have a day ticket to the park.
you can call and they will look up your 7 day ticket order and then process the s & s tickets.

s & s is the cheapest way for you to go.

if you want to wait, you can buy the S & S ticket at guest services.
you show your 7 day pass and buy s & s then

before i had the ap, i bought the pass in february.
when july came around, i had to call to get the S & S.

you can buy them either way.
it is up to you.
i doubt they would sell out on the first weekend.

The scareactors aren't suppose to touch the guests so that shouldn't be a problem.

Last year, I went to Universal with my wife and my parents, but I was the only one to do HHN. Fortunately, I signed up to do the RIP tour with some of the other posters here! That RIP tour was extremely fun!

A friend of mine said that her sister was grabbed by one of the actors who was "part" of a tree. The "tree" wouldn't let her go. She was scared. Dh would get really mad if that happened.

Thanks for the info on the tickets. I will call to do stay and scream.

The rule is,dont be touched by the scareactors, and deff dont swing back at them...They may get close, but no contact allowed..

Never had this happen to me or family!!!
