Dates for 2005 trip

Hi. I'm trying to plan a family get-together at WDW, but I need some advice on the dates. I was thinking either the end of February to the beginning of March 2005, the middle of April, or the end of April to the beginning of May. Since Easter is March 27th in 2005, I thought we would miss the holiday and spring break crowds. Which time is better? Any info or advice is appreciated.

My suggestion is avoid end of Feb beginning of March. I see you are from NY and there could be issues with weather. Last Feb. people going out Sunday of President's week ended up getting rebooked on flights for Thursday. There went there vacation as they were suppose to go home Friday. I will be going back in Feb but we picked our extended family trip for another time of year as we will be flying out of several airports (and have one person driving from NJ) and didn't want snow to possibly leave a family or 2 out!

Consider taking in the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot that is usually scheduled from late April to early June. If you like beautiful topiaries and incredible flower displays, workshops and question and answer sessions with master gardeners, and Flower Power 60's music (Herman's Hermits, the Turtles, and the Buckinghams are especially good), plan your trip for this time of year. You've missed the Easter crowds and the spring weather is tolerable (not too hot and before the summer rainy season). You may run into a mid to late May High School Graduation Party or two in the Disney Hotels, but you can always join in the party!

We were planning lat March 2005.
Catholic schools in NY are
on vacation that week -
Holy Thursday, Good Friday,
through the week past Easter
Sunday.

I thought we would miss
the Spring Break crowds too.


We saw the flower festival this
past May. Wonderful flower displays
in EPCOT. Very nice time to go.

Also one less inch of rain forcasted for
April than in March.

We've gone 3 times at the end of April into early May. The weather has been great (1st & 2nd trip 85-90, 3rd trip 80). The crowds are moderate and the Flower and Garden Festival can't be beat. We live in northeastern Wisconsin so we're always chomping at the bit to get some warmer weather (and see some green grass and blooming flowers) by April!

Our next family trip is planned for April 28th - May 8th, 2005. Maybe we'll see you there!
