This program was so disturbing. I think my mouth fell open after 5 minutes and my chin was on the floor. How disgusting these men are!! But I loved when the correspondent would come out from the back and surprise them. Did you get a load of the rabbi? The look on his face was like he hit the jackpot when he first walked into that house. The only one that looked even the least bit weird was the one that showed up naked -- If I saw him on the street somewhere I would say hmm, he really looks like a weirdo!! But for the most part, they all looked like your average everyday type of guy. What was with the guy from Egypt?? I said oh brother, now we're bringing pedophiles in from other countries?!?!?! Jeez!!!

I think it's because there was no crime committed since Dateline intervened.

Just the act of soliciting a minor using the internet is illegal in some states even if nothing bad happens and even if the solicitor isn't a minor.

Actually, they said that a crime was committed as soon as the men made a "date" to meet the person who was posing as a child. And, it didn't matter that the "victims" were adults posing as children. I did hear them say that the materials would be turned over to the police (tapes and computer logs of the interaction between the perpetrator and the "victims").

They did say all of the information would be reviewed by police but it still seemed like they should have been arrested on the spot and at least put into the police computer files.

I watched this also. I'd like to say I was surprised but I wasn't at all. I loved that Dateline publicly said many of their names and I'm glad at least some got fired from their jobs.
