Date & Rate.....2008!

Change us to:
June 23 - 27
PBH
APH rate
Loews Gold/NO
Garden View
$204/night

I am also going June 23 - June 27 (I do have flexible dates +- 2 days). I have not booked the PBH as of yet (my family loves this hotel), I am trying to get the best rate I can. Looks like the APH rate is the best. I have a rate of $299.99 which includes two length of stay passes (I believe). Would you believe I read all 14 pages of this thread...LOL..So if anyone has last minute advice, I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,

dave :surfweb:

t-and-a HAD supersaver rate booked at RPR and switched it to APH rate at PBH....it was a few dollars cheaper than the supersaver rate.... You won't find cheaper than APH or Supersaver....IF they still have rooms left at that rate. You'd better book before you end up stuck with rack rate! :scared:

I believe you'd lose your length of stay passes tho.....but, the 7 day ticket for $85 is a good enough deal, that it shouldn't matter.

Thank for the reply! There is a saying you snooze, you looze! That's me to a "T"....LOL....I had flights two weeks ago for $800, and now they are $950. SO, between the flight and the room, I am loosing. Right now the $299.00 (which includes 2 tickets) looks like the best to me and I will book today (I hope).

Thanks, again!

It may be worth it to buy one preferred Annual Pass to get the $204/night for your dates at PBH....

Since I have been up for the last 28 hours with no sleep, my brain isn't working....If I go APH I don't get the tickets right? The room is less by $90.00 per night which would equal to about $400.00...Then I still need 2 adults and 1 child...is that $400.00? My brain can't process....Help me...

Thanks,

So you need 2 more adult ticketsafter the AP?
I went to the Universal site and put one Preferred AP and 3- 7 day 2 park tickets in my cart and it came out to $462.95. With the 2 free tickets at the rate of 299/night, you would still need to buy two tickets, so you come out ahead by about $100 if you buy one AP, and then you get discounts in the park.
Look at this webpage to see what kind of discounts you will get with a Preferred AP:

Thank you so much...!...My family consist of wife, daughter,son...ages 13 and 9...so I was figuring three adults and one child ticket, correct?...I was almost in bed and thought I would check back here (adicted aren't I?...LOL). I have to get a good rate for me to go back again (We just got back from a trip to Washington, DC). SO if the APH is the way to go, then so be it..I am looking for 3-4 nights at PBH. Thanks again in advance...NOW I am off to bed...LOL

You're welcome!
The child's 7 day ticket is the same price as the adult's 7 day ticket. Right now, they are coming up 79.99 + tax. I just figured one Preferred AP and 3- 7 day 2 park tickets.
Here's a link to buy your tickets:

If you decide to buy an annual pass, make sure and get the Preferred Annual Pass, because you won't get any discounts with the Power Pass, and you don't need the Premier Pass.

Thank you so much! Bought an AP and (3) 7 day tickets...now onto the hotel ressie and the best of all the flight from Nashville to Orlando. Like I said earlier my dates are somewhat flexible and I am looking for the least amount to spend (since my last trip killed me).
So can you work miracles on flights?....LOL...the hotel, I believe, I can handle..

I can't work any miracles on flights! We drive every time we go. There are 5 of us in our group and air fare out of my area (Arkansas) is anywhere from $1600 - $2000. Everyone always talks about DINGS on the board, maybe someone will come along with some flight knowledge in a little bit. Good luck and I hope you have a wonderful time!

Is the $950 airfare a total for your crew (4)?...best I see non-Southwest for your dates is $304/pp at this point. Southwest has $227/pp, but it requires a late arrival and very early departure on the bookends of your trip, which I personally would find not too tasty.

Regarding your room rate, keep checking to see if it moves down...if so, you can rebook at the lower rate. Our wonderful economy could exert downward pressure on hotel costs (but not airfares), although UO resorts are high end and some would argue are exempt from economic turmoil. I'd be shocked if the prices didn't move down between now and your trip.

Thanks for the help on flights. I am looking at Southwest out of Nashville to MCO. I haven't looked lately, but I usually just wait until my Southwest ding appears or i get an email from them. The hotel, again, istill haven't made the reservation.
On both above I always seem to wait in hopes that the rates come down. they usually don't and I end up paying too much.

It's easy to book a hotel and keep rechecking the rates. If they drop, you can always rebook and cancel the old ressie. If they go up, you know you've gotten the best price you could.
I do this with car rental very often. For our trip last Nov. I think I had made and canceled about 10 ressies. yes, I'm a little crazy. :upsidedow

You don't have to cancel if the rate drops and you want to stay at the same hotel. You can call and have them lower your rate to the current rate. If they have already taken your deposit and you cancel, they will refund your deposit to your credit card (which could take a little while) and charge you a deposit on your new ressie.

Major price drop on my next week's trip with the AP discount! :thumbsup2

I just switched my rate from the Super Saver rate to the Annual Pass Extra Value Weeks rate. My price dropped from $195 to $139 for May 14 and 15, and from $207 to $169 for May 16 and 17. My total price dropped from $904.50 to $693. Because this was booked with an AP rate, I do lose my Loewfirst benefits, but because this is an Extra Value Weeks rate, I do get the $150 savings book and 2 Simpsons t-shirts! I'm still staying at the RPR.
