Looking for some ideas for our upcoming trip- DS will be staying at Pinocchio's workshop for an evening so hubby and I can enjoy a night in the parks by ourselves. Other than taking in rides where the little guy doesn't meet the height requirement, we have no plans. Are there things in the parks that are great adult experiences? Preferably things that don't cost much extra, as we've pretty much exhausted our trip budget (thank you, shrinking Cdn dollar).

You can have a drink/share a wine flight or beer flight at the Sonoma Terrace in DCA or share a drink and an appetizer in the CCR lounge -- such a nice atmosphere. WOC without worrying about a restless little one can be a much more relaxing experience. And your choice of viewing spots will open up quite a bit because 2 adults can see more easily from a variety of spots. Sharing a sundae at Ghirardelli can be romantic. Drinks and appetizers at the Cove Bar in DCA or at Trader Sam's at the DLH can be fun. If your date night falls on a Saturday, visit the Royal Swing Ball at PFF in DL for a night of dancing with a live swing band. Sharing a cheese plate and a glass of wine in the lounge at NR is another fun, less expensive evening, especially if you get the table in front of the fireplace. Even window shopping in DtD can be fun when you don't have to worry about keeping track of a little one. We cut costs on our date nights by sharing drinks and food. It can really help the budget stretch at DLR. Have a great night with your DH!
