Date Free Dining Might Start?

Based on your best estimate & any independent study you may have done, do you think Free Dining to the public (assuming it happens of course) will begin before August 19th? I'm trying to remember the official day it started last year & I think it was a Saturday...if that's the same this year, which Saturday do you think it might start? And why, if you have any info to help.

I think it will begin on August 23rd. Every year, free dining for the general public has included at least one (if not two) weeks in August. I know that bounceback didn't start until August 30, but that is bounceback. Different promo. Plus Universal is now offering free dining. It isn't as good of a deal as free dining at Disney, but for people whose kids have to be back to school after Labor Day, they may choose to go there and eat free if they don't have the option to do so at WDW.

While I would love it to be earlier (my trip is Aug. 10-20) I did ask a TA recently and while he would not tell me the dates (he couldn't reveal them), I did ask him what my chances were and he told me "not good." So I'm pretty sure my dates are not included. I voted for Aug. 30, just a hunch.
